I was at Honda yesterday getting a recall fix and I mentioned it to them. The person looked at me and said; I don't know if there's a recall or anything that can be done. They should fix it for free. My car has very low mileage for the year it is.

Civic SI 2.0L Vtec

Very annoyed, Honda refuses to help with a known paint defect simply because "7 years have passed" since the vehicle was purchased. It should not matter when the condition starts to show, if it is because of a known defect they should be responsible to correct it.

Of course I missed the deadline to file a claim by 2 flippin months!! It was just a couple small spots at the beginning of the year, but over this past summer spread like a disease...well if Honda does not want to fix it for me, then I hope they like the fact that me driving the car is LOUSY advertising for them when people see a car that looks like crap! I know I hated Ford for a long time cuz their cars always looked like spotted leopards (all the rust spots), but now Honda can be the paint defect leader...anyways want to share this with anyone who has a Honda and is having similar issues....

when I bought this car it was not like this. this is a six year old car with low mileage. I can't go to a car wash without it coming out worse than what it is suppose to be. (nice and clean!!!!) not paint fading on my roof and trunk.

Honda has fixed two previous paint issues in the last two years but there is another problem on the roof I just noticed... It is called, I believe, chalking (paint is clouding, white). I went to dealer and they said I could call Honda.. They won't do anything... I am pissed!
