Civic EX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 300 miles

I bought this car in December 2010. After driving it for about a week or so, I realized that the headrest is totally uncomfortable due to it's forward tilt. I am only 5'1" so I do not sit high enough on the seat to have it align in the midle of my head. This has created the biggest pain in my neck literally! I will never buy another Civic again. It was my first and will be my last. The seats are so cheap and uncomfortable.

For those of you having a similar problem, I found a foam cushion used to make throw pillows that I put on my upper back to push my head forward away from the headrest. The alternatives are to either turn it around, which gives you no support or if you are handy, you can take a vise and bend the headrest itself back. I'm working on my hubby to do that one!

As far as the steering wheel issue for short people, I just have it out the whole way and that seems to work. I am sure the pillow is helping too.

Civic LX ?

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25 miles

I've owned my Honda Civic LX for less than a week. I purchased it after a moderately long test drive, but apparently I didn't drive it enough. On the way home from the dealership, the top and lower portion of my thigh ached; I tossed it up to being new to the car, anxious driving it for the first time, etc. But the aching happens every time I drive and now extends down my shin. I've adjusted the seat and steering wheel every which way; I've purchased a pillow to "extend" the seat beyond the current front edge but haven't yet found a pillow type of thing that provides enough support; I've used a lumbar roll to scoot myself forward on the seat so my leg isn't hitting in the same spot as it was. NOTHING is helping! Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm a shorty (5'1") so I can't move the seat position too far back (thus extending my leg a little more straight); on the other hand, I generally like to sit further back, but if I do, I can't reach the gas pedal. HELP!

Civic LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

I'm still not sure if the uncomfortable seat is a cause of my problem or just an aggrivator but since I've had this car (bought 04/10) I've developed back trouble, which I've never had problems with before! But my back pain didn't start until January of this year. Anyone else experiencing something similar??
