I purchased a brand new 2013 Civic from a trusted dealer in early 2014. Not sure why I didn't notice on the test drives but after some time in colder weather it became obvious that there was a cold air leak / draft on the lower driver's side door area. I have taken this car into the Honda Dealer in Waterloo ON 2x and they can't seem to find the issue. Personally I suspect a poor assembly process and insufficient sealing or insulation.
I've had numerous old cars, my last one being an old BMW with 300,000 Km on it and no heat. I can tell you that I'm not a whiner about this sort of thing but can also say that this is completely unacceptable for a brand new car that I opted to take the extended warranty on. I've put up with old cars for years and never had this type of issue that feels like a cold air is constantly blowing on your leg. PLUS the seats SUCK! HONDA, fix the PROBLEM please.
