About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
My previous complaint number can be disregarded: 10864804 the problem in the 2013 Civic turned out to be the wheel bearing and not the transmission as I first thought.

I am writing to express concern about an issue I recently had with my 2013 Honda Civic and to see if the issue I had is a known issue with Honda Civics. On 11 February, my car hit a curb and the Honda dealership, upon inspecting the car, told me that my front lower control arm was broken, forcing a repair of the control arm, steering knuckle, front wheel bearing, and front damper/strut. The damage allegedly caused by the curb seems excessive to the level of impact. I am aware of previous issues with control arms in Honda Civics, which is the reason I am asking if similar issues have arisen in more recent models. Please let me know if you have any additional questions about this incident or if this is part of a larger problem with Honda Civics for which they should be responsible to fix. Thank you.

I just want it on the record that the car rode/ felt squirrelly from the get-go. I keep thinking - either something is seriously wrong w/ this car, or it's the tires. So, to do an expensive test, I spent the $1100, yes, one thousand, one hundred dollars on new tires and wheels. I purchased Michelin. And yes - it was a "new car". my car drove so much better than Continental tires. Their product, in my opinion, is horrible, bar-none horrible! my complaint is still my visibility on the front - I do not like the design of this Honda Civic 2013 at all - the front mirrors are placed terrible. The round bubble of the whole front design is so horrible that I cannot wait to pay this car off and give it away to my family member. I cannot wait to purchase a new car - and I know I will not purchase Honda.

Severe motion sickness when driving on the interstate; thought it was just a "small car" problem but it was persistent all the way to Chicago and back to san francisco. Basically, a roller coaster ride at interstate speeds and suspect that it is a faulty suspension design. Engine (would stall and then quickly accelerate problem) and driver wiped out after about eight thousand miles. The seat design is extremely poor and causes pinched nerves for passenger and driver. Maybe the car is just good for local short drives and the younger crowd...was supposed to get my old, trade-in vehicle back but Honda service ran off with the car and I sold it on ebay/paypal but got entangled in more fraud (various loan frauds by Honda and then the ebay buyer ran a scam and never paid for the car according to paypal). So, then the car got stolen by the scam loan company associated with Honda...a total bad experience as well as defective car design.

Purchased 2013 new Honda Civic hf two days ago. Initially noticed vibration from right side of vehicle at 70 mph. Now it seems that vibration occurs at all speeds. Appointment made with Honda to check problem. Dealership initially guessed that there was a flat spot in tire and it needs to be run. That did not take care of problem. Tires are a Bridgestone EP20 ecopia 135/65R15.
