I only have 71K miles on my 2013 Civic EX, and I am having to replace the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor, switch B. I have checked around and this is not typically something that needs replacing at this mileage, and am now out $400. There are some recalls for transmission issues on the 2012 Civics' and lower, but not the 2013, so I'm wondering if my year should also be involved? I'm the original owner, and have always handled the maintained as agreed on the car. Just a real bummer when something goes out, and it's not supposed to, and have to spend money on something I did not cause.

not shifting properly not shifting properly

My car has not been the same recently and I believe it's the CV transmission. When I drive at high speeds (such as 50mph or more, the car seems to be stuck in a lower gear). The car runs rough and it sounds like it's in a lower gear when it drives. I brought the car to the dealership (Aventura Honda in Florida) and they saw nothing wrong with it. They did a transmission flush just to be safe and after that was done, I still had the same issue.

I saw that Honda had a recall on the CVT transmissions for the 2014 and 2015 Honda Civic models. I can only begin to wonder if the 2013 models also have defects. I have about 47,000 miles on my car and I am the original owner.The CVT transmission needs to be investigated in the 2013 Honda Civic model for possible defects as well. I am hoping putting this message here will alert other drivers of this model. And whether others are experiencing the same.

I spent $149 for a flush that did noting to alleviate the noisy sound and the rough ride due to the gear being over-driven. I also had to rent a car for $65 while I waited for the service to be done, because they said they would be real busy that day. I have had several Honda Civic models over the years and I have come to love and trust the brand. But this experience is making me question whether to buy a Honda ever again.

Update from Jul 6, 2016: A customer service rep, from American Honda, who called on behalf of the company wasn’t very customer-friendly to me. This rep explained that I would need to take it to a second Honda dealership for another opinion and that I would be responsible for repairs. Being it was a new car, under warranty, I felt it unfair. Not having the funds for a possible repair, I had to wait until a month or two later. To make a long story short, once I had the funds, I took the car to Autonation Honda of Hollywood (the dealership where I had first bought the car).It turned out it was not the transmission, but a bad wheel bearing. They told me the repair was under warranty and I didn’t have to pay anything. I feel Aventura Honda in Florida wasted my time and money and should refund me for the unnecessary transmission flush that was done, when such a job had already been done on my car. I had to have a rental car for $65 while I waited for the repair - that also was a waste. So, the total of unnecessary cost was $148.35 plus $65 for the rental = $213.35. There should be some sort of refund for this. In addition, I had an oil change on my car (done after the debacle and not by Aventura Honda) and I noticed that one screw was missing from the underbody shield of the car. And another screw was overtightened. This added to my thoughts that I would never take my car to Aventura Honda, ever again. They did a wrong diagnosis, cost me money, wasted my time, and then lost materials from my car. On the flip side, I would like to congratulate Autonation Honda of Hollywood in Florida. The rep (Luc Durogene) was super helpful. And I will definitely buy from them again. I plan to take the car there for a rotation and balance of the tires because there is still some vibration, but overall the bad noise is gone. Again, I feel I should be refunded for the error created by Aventura Honda in Florida
