I had an oil change completed in June but am not sure of the exact date. Either the day of or the morning after I heard a popping sound when I was driving on the highway. Immediately I heard rattling under the vehicle. I called Honda and scheduled the service. I do believe that I stated in the call that I am not sure if there was something left loose or hanging after my oil change.
I was so busy I had to cancel the appointment, but was annoyed at myself for having to do that because the sound really bothered me.
So I took my car in to Brookdale Tires Plus to have my wheel alignment completed and I informed them of the noise. I was told that they were not able to mimic the sound and to come back if there was any other issues.
So I made an appointment with Honda and came in. I was told it was would cost a little over $100.00 I asked if I would have to pay if they can't mimic the sound and I was told "yes, the technicians still need to get paid." I explained to her that I am concerned because I don't want to pay for them to say they couldn't and then months down the road they say sorry we can now; this sounds almost like the same situation that I had with the battery.
So I only got the free brake inspection. I was told after that the mechanics visual inspection yielded nothing. That my brakes, rotors and everything on the list they gave me were still fine and good condition.
* Also before arriving to Brookdale Honda I was almost hit by one of their contractors. I had to swing my car left and smash the brakes really hard in order to avoid a collision. I almost hit the middle lane divider. I do have the plate number of the extended/hitch that was attached to the Chevy 4x4 white truck. When I arrived for my appointment I asked to speak to the manager and a man named Lucas spoke with me and stated that I should call the Honda customer service number and start my complaint there. The man not only turned on a red light, he turned and kept gliding into the furthest lane after exiting on Brooklyn Blvd. from highway 94 west. He also ran a red light in front of the Honda dealership and parked illegally on the side street of Honda and got out and walked away from the vehicle. I should have called 911 but since there wasn't an accident I let it go. But I did speak with Lucas and he told me that he wasn't for sure if he was a private contractor for them or not.
I did call and make a complaint with the American Honda number that Lucas provided.
After my brake inspection I drove him, when I braked my brakes vibrated. I just shook my head. I am very disappointed. I am not sure what else to do besides to take my car into another mechanic and get another opinion. After the next opinion I will make another complaint to give an update.
