The back up camera is very poor on the new 2015 Honda Civic LX. When it is sunny outside the image is so dark that the camera is not a reliable tool for backing the car up, thus, it is not performing as designed.
Since I have a rear view camera in another vehicle that I own ( 2013 Honda CR-V) that is very good, I know that this one is very poor.
The day we purchased the car (March 16, 2015) it was a rainy and cloudy day as was the following day. We first noticed the problem 2 days later on a bright and sunny day. We have been back several times for the same issue and we are told by the Honda of Toms River and the Rep from Honda of America that it's our OPINION that the camera isn't functioning properly. When we first reported the issue we had 26 miles on the odometer. Seven months and 8,000 miles later the problem still hasn't been rectified. Honda of Toms River supposedly replaced the camera to no avail. I have been in the Security and Video Surveillance business for over 30 years and I can tell you that in my expert opinion the camera is NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY!!
Any suggetions or advice will be greatly appreciated.
