This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
Any little rock or scratch the paint comes right off. I've never seen such cheap flimsy paint. it seems like every day I find a new one. I fill them in with the little paint pen, but come on, seriously. My other car was 20 years old and didn't have half the dings in the paint that my car has got in the last year alone. I have found its metal is cheap too. Dents way too easily. It's a joke. I love the look of the newer Honda. I don't want to buy one if it is the same paint though.

I bought a 2015 certified pre-owned Honda Civic in March 2018. In May 2019 I noticed the paint starting to fade. It's been 2 years of me bringing it to the car dealership to resolve. Getting other estimates, I noticed that it isn't the actual manufactured hood, bumper or fenders on the car. The only option they give me is to buy a new car, refusing to own up to their mistake.
Still not resolved.

This is the first brand new car I have owned and it is a very nice vehicle, however, when your paint starts to chip off and needs a paint job when it is not quite 3 years old that concerns me. Thank goodness Honda came through with the warranty and my car is in getting fixed as I type this. My concern is that they are painting the roof, I just hope that the rest of the paint does not start to disintegrate or chip off over the next few years. When you buy something new and beautiful the last thing you want to worry about is a lousy paint job from the factory. I thought that factory paint jobs were the best, lasted forever, especially Honda. I heard so many good things about Hondas that is why I purchased one. I only needed to rant a little bit because they have come through for me and are fixing the problem. My biggest concern is that I have heard from a few body shops that Honda is becoming known for bad paint! Not sure if I would purchase another one because of this.

The paint first started stripping off just next to the windshield on both sides of the front windshield. I took it to the dealership I bought it from and they said there was nothing they could do about it, it's because I had so many miles on my car. Then about 4 month later paint started stripping off my roof, next to the right side of my rear windshield and my trunk. I took it to a dealership where I moved to recently and they agreed that it was a paint job defect from the manufacturer and sent a case to Honda corporate to see what they would do.
In the meantime I took it to two separate independent car painters and they both agreed that the issues are a direct result of a paint job done incorrectly by the manufacturer. Honda Corporate came back to the dealership and said they would split the cost of repairs 50/50. I don't think that acceptable for the paint job on a less than 4 year car regardless of the mileage.
Honda screwed up the paint job and now because I chose to be a Honda customer ( and loyal one at that) I have to pay $1,700 for something that should have never have happened. It's not like it was a freak accident or anything that caused the issue, some one that works for Honda couldn't completed the paint job correctly, human error caused this and Honda won't own up to it. I will tell you this, I will never buy a Honda again and I am spreading this story to everyone I know.
If Honda would have owned up to it and fixed it I probably would have stayed a customer but never again.

This 2015 Honda Civic is hardly a year old and the paint is already chipping.
This is so annoying. I am disappointed that the paint and baking method is so poor. It will definitely begin to rust from the rain this winter.

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR LESS THAN A MONTH AND THERE IS ALREADY PAINT ISSUES. LOOK IT UP ONLINE, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
Update from May 30, 2015: I have contacted Honda warranty and they have refused to help in any way. They are saying it's stones hitting the the paint and that it is not covered. 4 chips in less than a month of ownership? That's like 50 chips by the end of the year, I said to them. I hope product suggestions are okay, as I can only suggest getting 3M Scotchgard clear bra. It is a thick clear plastic film that stays on and protects the car. You can find the material pre cut to your specific model on ebay. I purchased it for my hood and mirrors but not for my bumper though available.
Other option is to paint your hood, $250 from my local shop. Clear bra ran for $105 self install

I bought my 2015 Civic SI 12/28/2014. I traded in a 10 year old Nissan 350Z. I noticed the first paint chip when waxing a few days after purchase. I keep meticulous care of my cars, doing all detailing myself, waxing several times a month. Over the past four months I have noticed more and more paint chips; not only on the hood but on the sides of the vehicle and in other strange places. The paint seems so thin. I never had this issue with my Z. I plan to take it into Honda and complain. Will update.
