This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
The cowl covering the high brake light is glued to the inner rear window, but it only took a summer for the glue to give way, the cowl to warp, and my dealer's mechanic to remove it. He promised Honda is working on the problem, that it is common with ALL US Civics, and something will come down the pike for a recall.
When? I can constantly see my brake light at night, which the cowl is supposed to protect me from. Safety issue!
Update from Feb 7, 2017: Honda issued a recall for fixing this issue. They want to glue a new cowl (they call it the center high mount stop lamp cover) in place of the old one. We can call this a fix, I guess. I haven't scheduled an appointment yet, but I will do so very soon.javascript:void(0);

High mounted third brake light rattles like a leaf over any type of bumpy road. I tried to push it back on but it appears warped from the factory. A minor jiggle but it's very noticeable in the rear view mirror.

As a result of the factory subwoofer there is a rattle on the real back window coming from the high mount brake light. No fix yet, dealer is waiting for window tint to be completed

Honda has had my car 45 out of the 70 days I have owned this car. They said they cannot fix this issue at this time and that I simply had to "just deal with it." Will NEVER buy a Honda again after how I have been treated.
