This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
I take good care of my car. I just noticed this problem last month. After researching, I found that I am not the only Honda owner that has this exact problem. Many others (there is even a Facebook group) have this exact same issue, exact same car, exact same color, with paint chipping/peeling in the exact same spot. Honda has an extended warranty for some of their vehicles that are painted white, but none for other colors. I find it infuriating that this is a well known problem and yet Honda refuses to do anything about it. I filed a claim/case with Honda and had the car inspected at a Honda dealership who sent me to get an inspection/estimate at the body shop they use. After waiting for over a month I received a call yesterday from Honda telling me they will not do anything about it. Same response from dealership. I am frustrated and angry. This is a well known issue and no one is doing anything about it.

Bought the car in late March 2019. Saw the paint starting to bubble and brought it to the dealer's attention, but was told there was nothing they could do about it at that time. Now it has spread to a strip about 1/2" wide by 18" long all the way down to bare metal. This car has less than 30,000 miles on it - the paint should not be peeling already!

Paint chips started appearing around the back window after the winter, the paint chips down to the metal. Seems to be classic Honda paint cheapness.

The paint started chipping down to the metal at the edge of the back rear window in May 2018. They found it was worse once they removed the rear window. I am worried it will happen in other places around the car. I have a taffeta white Civic LX.

The same issue it seems a lot of people are having. Noticed it a few months back.
Update from Feb 2, 2024: Honda has offered to cover 60% of the repair on my vehicle, leaving me to pay almost $1000 to fix their issue.
