Tire Pressure Monitor Problem. After replacing (2) flat tires over a 3 month period with the same brand, model, size and style of tire as the OEM, I now get a Tire Pressure Monitor warning constantly illuminated, even after checking tire pressures and re-calibrating the TPMS. According to Honda dealership this is a known issue with Honda TPMS systems since the system uses wheel speed not sensors to detect differences in tire pressures. As a result there is no known solution other than to replace multiple tires at once. What is supposed to be a safety feature / convenience is now a nuisance.

Honda needs to reprogram TPMS for wider range of pressure, or repair system.

Brand New 2016 Honda Civic - both my son and I purchased these vehicles. Same exact model just didn't colors. both TPMS lights have come on within the first few hundred miles!! To me, this is a huge annoying issue! A defect in manufacturing for sure. I will be taking mine in later today.

The tire pressure indicator light first came on about 8-9 months ago. Took it in, go it back, few days later indicator is on again. Took car in for routine maintenance today, mentioned the indicator was on. Told to drive the car for 20-30 mins to re-calibrate the indicator. So I do that, light goes off. Start the car again, within a couple mins the indicator light is on again.
I look up the problem online--drive it 30-60 minutes. Huh? This is not an acceptable solution. I've had Hondas since 1986-and never had a problem like this that required me to go out of my way to fix it. This is a fault in the system not my driving. I do low mph, short distance driving 95% of the time. Now I have to spend time driving around to fix this?
I know reporting this sort of thing is just letting me vent. Nothing will be done to actually fix the problem. Honda used to be a very dependable, reliable vehicle. I don't think it is anymore and I won't buy another one.
