suddenly cracked suddenly cracked

I left work, got in the car, shut the door, then heard glass falling. I turned around and saw the entire rear windshield shattered into small shards of glass from edge to edge. This vehicle was in great condition prior to the spontaneous shattering of the rear windshield. There were no prior accidents, no window cracks, and no objects struck the window before this incident occurred. The vehicle is a lease under a 3 year warranty, I put in a claim for a defect in the glass and was rejected by Honda. They refused to test for any defects, simply wouldn't honor the warranty without verifying the validity of the claim.

suddenly cracked

As can be seen from the picture the back window got shattered all by itself. There was no crack before and nothing hit the back window. The temperature was around 40 F. I don't know if other people are having the same issue. This is unacceptable.

New cars should have spare parts available as soon as car is being sold. Windshield may be defective! Safety issue.
