March 5th 2020 I finally recorded a message that had been appearing in my dash board during late night drives. Message read as "Adaptive Cruise Control Problem" "Collision Mitigation System Problem" I notified Honda of North Hollywood service department at the time, and they said they could not do anything to fix the problem unless the message was actively displayed on the dash board during the time of service. Unfortunate for me the message would come and go and would not remain on for the service advisor to see. Several times my vehicle would randomly brake abruptly (to a screeching halt) due to a malfunction in detecting cars/objects around me. Luckily I managed to not crash or have other vehicles crash into my car from behind, but it scared me. I've always wondered what the issue was, and was never able to get it resolved because I didn't have proof of the abrupt stops. Fast forward to May 2024 I received a letter in the mail for a recall on the fuel pump module. I think this might have something to also do with not being able to start my car three times within one year... I ended up replacing multiple batteries and cleansing the fuel tank thinking that was the issue and I have been mobile since then. I have contacted Curry Honda in Georgia multiple times to get the recall resolved. 8 months since I received the recall notice, and the issue is still unresolved. Please help. I rely on this vehicle to get to work, and I am still paying on this car. I am concerned of the safety issue.

The standard OEM key fobs for Honda Civics, for several model years, and possibly for other Honda models, have a "feature" that seriously affects driver and passenger safety, and that cannot be disabled. If two buttons are depressed simultaneously on the key fob for a period of time, all of the windows go down and the doors unlock. I have encountered dozens and dozens, perhaps hundreds, of owner complaints about this "feature" on various Internet bulletin boards. Typically, the stories go, "I parked downtown in an unsafe area and I came back to my car and found that it was unlocked with all of the windows open and someone stole everything from my car, " or "I parked outside just before a rain storm and I returned to my car to find all of the windows open without my knowledge and the interior of my car was soaked." Single women could encounter this problem and be attacked by people hiding in the back seat. Apparently, if anything in one's pocket depresses the keys on the fob, without one's knowledge, this occurs. It has happened to me, where I'll bend down to tie my shoe and walk away and I'll return hours later to find all the windows open during a rain storm or in a bad part of town. I've asked American Honda numerous times for a way to disable this unwanted "feature" and they've said that they've not interested in addressing it unless they're forced to do so by the government. This is a serious safety issue, not only implicating potential crime, but a wet soaked car interior could affect electrical and navigation systems in a life-threatening way. If you respond, I can upload several Internet pages with owner comments and complaints about this problem.

1) Caused by faulty Body Control Module (BCM). 2) Can't enter car, key fob won't unlock car. Dashboard is illuminated when car is off, I can see it through my window. 3) Alarm horn went on when car is off. 4) Turn on my car, multiple errors, go to drive the car thinking I need to reset it from battery change. Shut off my car, but go to turn it back on. Car cranks but won't turn on, shows multiple errors on dash. 5) Dash shows "keyless start system problem" and car won't turn off. When pushing button to turn off car, head lights and a/c turn off but the engine still runs, push/start button flashes. Disconnected battery, still runs. Had to pull fuel or ECU fuse to stop the car running. 6) Can't reliably get my car to start. Issue is intermittent.

A/C went out on a road trip. Temperatures were in the 90s. No cold air. When it happened there was a really odd odor that we smelled that made us feel sick and nauseous. Took it to the dealer to look at it. They charged 360 just to look at it. Ended up replacing the condenser under warranty but that didn't fix the issue. Turns out it was the compressor that was the issue and not covered under warranty, Honda wants $1242 to repair the clutch, field and pulley assembly. With the number of complaints regarding the AC issues on these cars, there needs to be a recall or class action lawsuit to protect consumers. This is dangerous due to the smell and leaks and also due to no AC on hot days. My car has less than 60k miles and is a 2018, ridiculous!

Went to Honda dealership to diagnose why white smoke was coming through the AC vent whenever I would turn on the AC. Honda said that my AC condenser went bad, which is covered under the extended warranty due to others having the same issue but that my AC Evaporator core was stain and also needs to be replaced. I was quoted $2322.16 to have the Evaporator replaced and it needed to be replaced before they could continue with replaced the condenser and recharged the system for free. Please help as it seems the issue has to do with the new Freon Honda is using.

I have noticed recently that almost every time when I start the car, it stalls for a second then turns on. There were many times that the car will jerk when I accelerate after being stopped at a red light. The car seems to not have as much power as before. I feel as though I have to step on the gas more to keep up speed especially on the freeway. Fortunately, no accidents have occurred. I have not had the vehicle inspected because when I called my local Honda dealership, they said they did not have the parts to replace it. There are no warning messages or lamps. I cannot pinpoint the exact date I have noticed these occurrences but most likely for a few months now since January 2024.

My AC system in my 2018 Honda has now failed twice under 80000 miles. The first time the compressor and condenser were leaking and failed around 50000 miles which the dealership said was due to a new refrigerant that Honda had started using for this generation of civics. Following this repair, Honda extended the warranty for these components of the AC system. Early in July 2024, I had the same issues with my AC blowing hot air only and making hissing and banging noises on the passenger side at around 75000 miles. Took this to the dealership and they again said that the compressor and condenser were leaking and had failed but also that the evaporator valve was leaking and failed due to the compressor and condenser issues. However, Honda has not extended their warranty for these parts and this would be an out of pocket cost. Honda needs to own up to their faulty AC system used in this generation of Honda civics and extend the warranty to all involved parts or issue a recall and properly fix the system so it isn-??t failing every 18 months.

The electric power steering is bad in this model vehicle. Once the car is warmed up, it begins to have a stick/jerky steering wheel. It is difficult to make minor adjustments while driving straight, as the wheel jerks one way or the other when there is a problem. There is a recall on the EPS on 2018 Honda Civics, however my VIN does not fall into the recall, and it should because it is a faulty part and is unsafe to drive. The sticky steering wheel will even show itself when in park. Steering should be smooth and this should not be an issue on a car with such low mileage. I have taken the vehicle to a certified Honda mechanic and they recommended replacing the EPS rack. This should not be an issue on a car this new.

AC leaking Freon inside cabin. AC unit leaking Freon in atmosphere. My car-??s AC unit started blowing hot air instead on AC cold air. Making it dangerous to stay and operate the vehicle while high temperatures here in California. I was told at Honda dealer that there are several TSB for AC repairs due to leaking from the AC condensers and AC compressor but that my car is leaking from inside the cabin through the evaporator and possibly inhaled the Freon that was escaped and the rest into the atmosphere. Extremely dangerous. Many articles about this please help? Honda USA is not helping fix and wants to do outrageous changes to get it fix.

AC is not cooling. There was a recall last year (2023) for the A/C Compressor Shaft Seal Leak. I got it fixed by the Gardena dealership in California, but the issue has returned. When I turn on the A/C it makes an odd noise almost like a hissing noise. I no longer turn it on.

Infant mortality of the entire AC system due to faulty components. Cost of repair is $3000+. It is a common, systemic failure on this generation of Honda Civic. Lack of AC in hot regions can lead to unsafe mold growing in the vents as well as heat related illness potentially leading to death. This is a highly hazardous failure with a high likelihood of occurring, so it is unacceptable to allow this situation to continue without a full recall or reimbursement by Honda.

My AC system completely failed in my 2018 Honda Civic. I took my vehicle into to service and I was informed that all 3 major components of the AC system is leaking refrigerant. The main problem being the Evaporator has been leaking refrigerant into the car cabin. I have gotten spells of lightheadedness and the feeling that I will pass out and I believe the refrigerant leaking into the cabin is to blame. Honda is aware of the compressor and condenser and evaporator being prone to leaking but will only repair the compressor and condenser free of charge but not the evaporator. Honda is knows the evaporator is defective but does not want to admit it.

Went in to a certified Honda Dealership because my car that is only 7 years old had an AC that doesn't work. After the diagnostic they said 3 parts were faulty but only 2 were under warranty. To fix all three and fully fix the system it would cost $2200. I live in Minnesota, I don't even use the AC half of the year and it's still broken? Evaporators are supposed to last 10+ years, and with the winters here thats around 4 years of using the AC and all three of those parts broke. I did not get the repair because I'm hoping it will also be recalled, obviously there was serious issues with the AC in the original model and that's why 2 of the major components were already under extended warranty.

My vehicle will no longer start and after inspection from a mechanic, it was determined that the fuel pump was the cause. There was no indication of any issue besides not starting. I am now being told by my local dealership that they will not have replacement parts until the fall and they are unable to provide a loaner during this time, leaving me without a vehicle for an unknown amount of time.

The TRMS system constantly displays low tire pressure. I correct the tire pressure and reset the TRMS every time but it happens again and again.. The dealer has also reset the TRMS system, and in a few days it indicated that the tire pressure went down again. I have complained to the Honda dealerships and my mechanic. They-??ve not found anything wrong. If the tires are good maybe there-??s something wrong with the wheels. Although I have extensive receipts for all my maintenance and repairs, and I-??ve frequently complained, they seldom indicate my complaints about tire pressure.
