I purchased a 2022 Civic Sports brand new, in 11/21, and it recently broke down; it is less than two years old and has 14,216 miles. The engine failed, and it broke down in the middle of the highway, and luckily I was able to pull over to safety before being hit by a car. Oil and anti-freeze were leaking?out of the vehicle. I called Honda roadside assistance, and the tow driver stated that this was a brand-new car, and it sounded like the rods and engine were knocking. It was towed to a dealership, and they told me it was a metal piece in the machine the technician found. It was a manufacturing defect, and then when I inquired more because I felt replacing an engine on a new car was insufficient because of component issues that could be affected due to the damage. I purchased a new vehicle for the peace of mind. I also purchased during the time of covid and the car shortage. The car was fresh from the manufacturer, and I had to pay extra due to the need. The car was maintained with oil and maintenance from the Honda dealership I purchased the car from. I did not see a recall for my vehicle, and there were no warnings. I had to car services a month and a half before. I have asked for something in writing to see the metal piece, but the dealership is refusing, and they are trying to cover this issue up by issuing a quick fix with an engine.

First issue was a major evap leak that took several attempts and months for them to repair resulting in having to drive around with a check engine light. Reason this is concerning is that when the check engine light is on the advanced safety systems are disabled. They had to replace the gas tank fuel filler neck because it was not closing properly. I was told by Honda corporate that "this is not posing a significant risk to the occupants of the vehicle", but when fuel is not being properly contained in the tank, and the safety features don't work I think otherwise. Now, there is a steering rack issue where at high speeds the steering is grabbing causing a possibility for overcorrection. Honda has known about our issues since June of 2022 and Honda corporate has been delaying official lemon law claims since December of 2022 where I then hired an attorney. Honda corporate is now ignoring the attorney and our only recourse is to file a lawsuit. I can't in good conscience sell the car to endanger the public. My only concern is that there are so many of these falling apart on the road.

The car was parked in a safe location over night. When I attempted to start it in the morning the car ran poorly and displayed numerous warning light on the dash including evap control, brakes, steering, and various automated systems. Upon calling the dealer I was told to it was not safe to drive and to have it towed to the dealer. Which I did.

Fuel efficiency exceptionally poor. Owned for over 1.5 years with 8500+ miles accumulated, rarely met published ratings. Achieved 280 miles per tank, roughly 23/24 mpg average. Driving style adjusted with no effect. Several others who owned the LX and Sport trims manufactured at the Canadian facility in 2021, we came to the conclusion that our Civics are likely part of the same manufacture error/deficiency that caused such poor fuel efficiency.

I have less than 2000 miles on a new Honda Civic Ex and the emission systems problem warning light has come on and it says power may be reduced and see your dealer. Took to dealer and they think it is with the fuel cap but cannot get parts since it is too new. Everything I read indicates it is serious and needs immediate attention. Do not know what to do.

I traded in my 2022 civic in November because the car would randomly shut down because of the faulty denso fuel pump. I told Norm Reeves Cerritos that once I put fuel cleaner the car will shut down 3-5 times the same day and will reoccur again in eight months. Replicated same problem with the sports model after car was in shop 3 months because of an accident and while doing Uber this week with witnesses. Filed numerous complaints with BBB and Honda Corporate all were ignored and they blamed me for putting a third party device in the cigarette lighter.
