While running, IMA bar drops to 2 or 3 but regains after little movement. However, with air conditioner on and on a steep slope with 2 -3 bars, the car would not climb that slope forcing me to stop the car in the middle of where it happened.
Shown it to Honda workshop but they inform there is no problem with the batteries or otherwise.

I bought this car from a private party over the weekend. It test drove GREAT, however I was told the DC converter was "going out" and that it would cost approx. $800-$1,000 to fix. No problem since I thought I was getting a "deal" on the car anyway. I went to the bank, got the cash, and attempted to drive it home, (approx 30miles away). I didn't even get 5 miles before the cart just STOPPED.
I called the previous owner and was told that because my headlights were now on, it was draining the battery. I turned the lights off and drove in the dark, following a family member. Since the car has been home, it hasn't started at all.
I was able to contact the Honda dealership that regularly service the car and was told that 4 months prior, the owner had been told that the Civic needed a new DC converter AS WELL AS a new IMA. The previous owner failed to mention anything about needing a new IMA - which will cost $4,000 to repair, on top of the $1,000 I was prepared to pay for the DC converter.
Not sure what to do at this point. Suggestions are appreciated.

IMA batteries are useless under high heat conditions. I consistently get zero to two bars on the IMA battery Gage and the systems is consistently performing a "forced" charge to the batteries since they are dead. this causes the vehicle to lunge forward when you take your foot off of the brake. Every dealer I talked to (and I talked to them all in the Phoenix area) will tell you there is nothing they can do until the idiot light goes on. I believe Honda has conveniently updated the software (during one of the several updates performed on my vehicle) to not have the light go on until after warranty. They have also told me that it should go on if I get zero bars. Which is not the case since I have had this happen several times. With the temperatures in the 100's this car is basically useless.

Car frequently looses all bars on the battery gauge, signifying a recalibration event. This happens about three times a week when the weather starts warming up over 65+ degrees. When it happens, the car is unable to accelerate at a reasonable speed since the hybrid system is trying to charge the battery instead of accelerating the car. In addition, you have to drive slowly and avoid any situations that may require quick acceleration while this is occuring or else you might be involved in an accident.
Honda dealer says I probably have a "deteriorating battery" but American Honda won't replace it because the car has not turned on the check engine or IMA light on the dash.

They told me when I bought the IMA battery was around $2000.00. So I said if I save gas I can always buy a new battery. I called them last week the battery is $7000.00. So I said I might as well scrap the car, he said yes. The MPG was about 45 to 50, some cars are doing better than that. It cost 4 to $5000.00 and now my car scrap. I got a letter it was supposed to be guaranteed for another 2 years BULLSHIT it is too bad because it is a 2007 and I never had any other issue will never buy another hybrid
