OK I am speaking on behalf of my uncles car so I don't actually know the mileage but I do know that his IMA battery is starting to die. The IMA battery pack in his car itself might be fine but if you open it up you will find that the battery pack is made up of rows of battery cells. One of these cells could be defective, hence, affecting the whole IMA system. Not all battery's are perfect so one is bound to be defective.

An easy fix is to take out the IMA battery pack and charge it fully if you have the equipment to do so. If not, seek professional help. When charged, take out each row of cells and check them with a voltmeter to check that they're all fully charged and that they're holding a charge. Wait for a bit and check them again to see if any cell has dropped voltage and if any cell has dropped and the others haven't, then you have got your hands on a defective cell.

So instead of paying a couple of thousand euros, or dollars in some peoples cases, spend maybe about 100 or less buying a new cell or getting it reconditioned by a professional. I hope this helps some people as this is one of the worst issues with these cars and not a lot of people realize how much money they can actually save.

We started to have our Honda die randomly. Turn the key & it would die before we could put it in gear. Also the battery charge would drop. The Honda dealer was horrible because they could not get it to do it in the shop so they didn't believe us. My husband is a PhD battery engineer so he knows what's right & not right with batteries. My only hope is the battery in the back dies before the extended warranty is up
