Driving down a Dallas highway going 70 MPH on a bright sunshiny day listening to Fleetwood Mac and all the sudden I hear a loud noise, and glass is shattered all over me from my sunroof randomly exploding. Scared me so bad I screamed because I thought I got shot! Given my last experience with Honda, I hesitate to bring my car to them just to be manipulated or for them to state this isn't their fault. Previously with my 2016 Civic, I hit a tire in the road that caused damage to my car, I brought it into Honda for them to fix. Later, I noticed that the car still had issues, so I kept bringing it in telling them something was wrong. Each time they said they couldn't find anything and sent me home. Finally, I was driving down the highway and the car just stops accelerating. I bring the car in again and tell them I'm not leaving until they diagnose the issue. They came back and said that my engine block was cracked, and a spark plug was frozen in the engine with coolant and that I needed a new engine. I can't help but to think that this wouldn't be the case if they had listened to me in the first place. I fought with Honda Corporate and the dealership that I was using for 3 weeks before they took SOME accountability and gave me a better price on my trade in just for them to post my old car with a totaled engine on sale 5 minutes after I drove off with my new car! AND they listed it at a decent price! they didn't give me half of what they listed it for AND didn't disclose the engine issue on the listing! Bullshit! Just as this glass issue wasn't disclosed when i purchased this car. If I knew I was going to be risking my life to own a Honda Civic I would've preferred a PT Cruiser. So, Moral of the story, I wasn't about to take my car directly to them this time to be manipulated again. Instead, I came home and did some research to find out that Honda has been in multiple lawsuits, including a class action, with various models ranging across the years with exploding glass. I called 3 different dealerships in the area to be put on hold for 20+ minutes, be hung up on, or be told a quote would be sent just for it not to arrive. So, I reached out to Honda Corporate, another call for an hour that was pointless only to be escalated to a case manager who was also useless. I got the call the next day and was told that this issue is hard to determine if this is a manufacturing issue and stated that I needed to bring the car into a Honda dealer specifically for inspection. WHAT?! so, I bring my car in so Honda can feel out their excuse and not take accountability once again? I'm amazed at how many companies try to cover their ass rather than do what's right to keep customer satisfaction...
