I am not sure what is happening yet, but from what I'm reading, I've worked myself into an upset stomach of nerves. I bought my Honda Element July 3, 2011. It has been a great vehicle. It's now October 5, 2011.

This morning, I was due for the oil change, so I scheduled the oil change with Firestone and had them do the Transmission Fluid and the Coolant, along with a standard vehicle check up.

I picked up and all was fine. Recommended spark plugs, based on mileage suggestion and I was on my way. This was in Seattle, I live in Tacoma. About halfway down the highway along my 30 mile drive, I noticed my D (Drive) light is blinking. Nothing seems different, it changes gears, i don't hear anything, etc.

When I turn the vehicle off, it goes away until I reach either a certain speed or a certain time. Not sure, as it's just so new.

I'm curious due to having the Transmission fluid serviced today if it might be something to that; but if so, what? I've called that Firestone and they told me to bring it back in, but I'm not about to drive it back to Seattle.

I'm so sick because it was just fine. How could it be coincidence that I just decide to change the transmission fluid today and then the light begins blinking 10 miles after I pick it up.

Please, please, please tell me this is just a fluke that can be resolve with a visit to Honda or by Firestone when I return. I have only made 2 payments. This is my 3rd Honda in my life. I've always admired and thought highly of Hondas. Right now, well up to this evening, I've been a proud Honda Element owner. but right now, reading all the stuff about this blinking light, has my nerves shot. But I have to believe the coincidence of going in randomly for that today and 10 miles later that is going on. It can't be bad .. can't it? Someone help reassure me.

Will Honda look at this for free? I mean considering all the reading I've done and the fact they are aware of this blinking thing, so I can see what I might need to do?
