Dispite rave reviews, the Honda Fit has many short comings:
1. Unacceptably low gearing, 60mph in 5th = 3000 RPM!!!! Nonstop engine whine at the
slowest highway speeds. Unable to have normal conversation. Thank goodness for a
very decent and loud stereo.
2. Unexceptional fuel economy. Real life combined city/highway = 30 MPG.
3. Unstable at speed above 75 mph. I suspect culprits are extremely low vehicle weight
(2400 lb!!!) and tall centre of gravity. Watch out for crosswinds!!!!
4. B pillar blocks blind spot checking.
5. Poor shift quality from 1st to 2nd with manual transmission.
6. Honda schedule service "B", $600 canadian for an oil change and inspection. Come on Honda, if you wanted to screw me, at least buy me dinner first!!!!
