Bought my 2011 Honda Fit June 2018. Had driver air bag recall done. Took into Honda of Boise week after bought. They did their complimentary inspection. Went in with ac working on all levels, came out with only on high. Coolant light came on a couple of times but I have coolant. They gave me a list that I need brake flush plugs etc. 8 hundred dollars worth of service done. I had no leaks or problems before I took it in. Also are passenger bags recalled? I don't know, they say they are fine because passenger side has different air bags then Takata.

Failure of simple bearings in a heater motor is not something I expect from Honda

I LOVE my Fit. The only problem I have had is thie blower for the AC/heater will only work on high. I went in to the dealership to see if there was a recall and was it under warranty. Dealership said no recall and it would be over $450 to fix. I did not have the money to do it at the dealership, so I went to the auto parts store to see if it could be bought or ordered and what would be involved in fixing it myself. The guy at the auto parts store told me that this problem usually only happens to much older cars and perhaps Honda has a recall and they will fix it for free.
It is winter in North Carolina, and I'd like to have this fixed, but from what I understand, this should not have gone bad this quick. I bought the car brand new, and today it has 58,000 miles on it. I'd think that if it were 10yrs old with 180,000 miles, this kind of issue would be expected. I don't think I should have to pay for this, I'm still making car payments. AND, why is it so expensive? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tons of same reported problem on Fit forums and websites. Obvious design flaw that should be addressed.

I believe there should be a factory recall on this situation.
