Suddenly Tire Pressure Sensor comes on( I'm used to that/ I had a Civic before & it did same). Then 4 other warning icons showed on dash screen: 1) power steering 2) car skid picture 3) ABS and 4) what looked like a steering wheel with an ! Next to it....I'm not sure if that's " check engine" or Power Steering indicator but there were a TOTAL of 5 warning lights..
Fortunately I wasn't far from home. I looked in owners manual and at least 3 out of the 5 warnings said " STOP DRIVING and have your car checked out by dealer" That was fairly upsetting as I only got this car on 9/28/14 and had something like 600 miles on it.
Took it to dealer on Monday. They kept it for 2 days because they had to order a part. Said it was a " faulty sensor In the wheel." They didn't give me any paperwork when I picked car up ( my mistake....I realize now that I have to get copies of everything).
How ONE faulty sensor in the WHEEL could set off 5 warning lights is a mystery ??
More to follow....this car has OTHER issues with defective sensors...in doors and locks .I am reporting those individually.
At 716 miles and after being forced to drive for about an hour this past Saturday night ( so No Dealer available for 2 days) with the " door ajar" sensor chiming and the locks opening / closing while I was driving ( overhead lights kept going on/ off too but I think that was all tied together) I took car BACK to dealer on Monday but had to borrow my old 1996 Subaru back from person I just gave it to so I had something to drive while they attempted to fix the 2015 FIT of mine with 716 miles on it. I've called HONDA America to report this as a defective car..I believe it's a very early production from their new Factory in Mexico ( need I say more) and it's a screw up..."Lemon" or whatever.. I've already had it in twice before for the door warning that kept coming on...dealer said it was " strike plate" out of alignment on door so it wasn't Meeting up properly so they fiddled with it 2x before this incident. This time the door chime just stayed on...and the other two things started happening. I seriously worried that my electronic ignition was going to quit while I was driving on a 4 Lane highway. Told HONDA Rep. I want either 1) to get OUT of my Lease ( have only made 2 payments) OR 2) Give me a DIFFERENT car.
Dealer told me it's " fixed" again but all they did was remove the strike plate for 3 rd time and tried to put it back . *He said it's partly because the armrest is so close to the sensor that it doesn't take much pressure to trigger it. And he's never seen ANY HONDA with these problems ...especially a NEW ONE
I have not heard back from the HONDA REP but they are supposed to contact me tomorrow. I believe I have a case under the NY Lemon Law , too. But this is REALLY bad PR for them and their new MEXICAN factory IF they don't do the right thing by me because I WILL go public with my story. I've had Hondas before and they were good. What is going on?
