I’m beyond frustrated with my 2019 Honda Fit. The multi-purpose camera system has failed, making critical safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Collision Braking Warning System (CBWS) completely useless.

These systems are supposed to help keep me and others on the road safe, but instead, I’m left with a car that feels unsafe to drive. The ACC can’t maintain distance from other cars, the LKAS doesn’t assist with steering, and the CBWS doesn’t detect potential collisions. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s a serious safety hazard.

I took my car to Swickard Honda of Thousand Oaks, and they confirmed the issue during an inspection on August 20, 2024. Despite the relatively young age of the car, they quoted me a hefty repair bill. I then filed a case with Honda (Case #14932073), requesting a complimentary repair due to the severity of the issue and its impact on safety. Their response? No resolution.

The dashboard has been lighting up with warnings for months now, and the dealership confirmed the issue is with the camera. Yet Honda refuses to take accountability. I expected better from a company that advertises safety as a priority.

This feels like a design or manufacturing defect that Honda should address, not push onto the owner to fix. I’ve also filed a complaint with the NHTSA, as I believe this could be a widespread issue affecting other Honda Fit owners.

If you have a 2019 Honda Fit, beware! Check your safety systems, and don’t expect Honda to step up if there’s a problem. I’m sharing my experience here in the hopes that it helps others and maybe pressures Honda into finally taking action.
