HR-V EX CVT 1.8L 4

  • CVT transmission
  • 22,000 miles

I did have the starter replaced and a new battery installed because the car was not starting. The starter replaced seemed to fix the issue but I have ptsd every time I go to start the car thinking it won’t start. I had new battery installed March 2022. Then on 8/5/2022 brought to Honda to test battery as car wouldn’t start. They found nothing and I returned on 8/15/2022 for no start and they replaced the start/stop switch. Now March 10th 2023 I drove to have dinner in town and when I returned to car an hour and half later it wouldn’t start. I called for help but after about 10 minutes I was able to get it started.

I’m just wondering why HR-V's are not included in the lawsuit as it sounds like the exact same issue. It’s very nerve racking never being able to trust whether your car will start up or not. This new technology sucks as far as I’m concerned. Oh and the damn trunk hatchback continues to give me grief not unlocking.

Can I trade this car in for a car that uses a real key!

HR-V EX 1800 I4

  • CVT transmission
  • 44,000 miles

Starter button was replaced after intermittent non starting issues. Couldn't risk total failure and subsequent stranding. Only 44,000 miles on vehicle. $358 dollars and a spendy repair for what should have been a non-issue. It's happened in other hrv's. More so on the Honda Fit, according to the dealership. Come on Honda. Don't make me wish I would have bought a Toyota. I will update.

Less than 60000 miles on the car and I can’t get it to start. Must replace starter. Bought this car new 4 years ago. How can it require so many repairs in a short time? I keep all repairs up to date. It seems the major components of a car should last more than 4 years!

HR-V EX 1.8L

Had to push the button multiple times before the car would start. This happened a few occasions before I took the vehicle in but not every time. Still, having a car that won't start is extremely disconcerting.

My biggest problem is that I bought the car in to the dealership in May because the battery died. They replaced it, now these problem have been going on. Thank God I carry a portable charger in the car because I have used it many times. I'm tired, I bought a new car so I would not have to deal with it. Now in one week had to jump start it twice. Bring it in today 9-19-18 to see what they say.. I just hope that this dose not continue. I will continue to film it every time this happens.
