problem #2

Sep 072021

HR-V EX-L 141hp1.8L Sohc

  • CVT transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Purchased HR-V new in Aug 2016. Recently (around Aug 2021) I kept hearing water sloshing around every time I opened the trunk. I couldn't figure out what it was until I finally noticed water in the passenger rear tail light. I took to Honda dealer who would not help cover it in any way. They quoted approximately $450.00 to replace light component.

I was advised no other issues like this have been reported even though there are complaints online. I was told the car is just out of warranty and it is not a manufacturers defect.

This is definitely a DEFECT and a SAFETY concern as the lights could short out! I filed a case with Honda Motor Corp customer service but they certainly lack in attentiveness, as I haven't heard a word.

HR-V UT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,400 miles

I noticed water in the white tail light on the lift gate, then I noticed the tail light on the car body is not flush like the passenger side. Dealer won't do anything to help me since it's out of warranty. I only have 35,440 miles on the car but it's a 2016. I wrote Honda to see if they will help with this defect. stay tuned...

Has anyone else had this problem? Dealer wants over $300 to replace the part that is on the tail gate (water in the white light).

Update from May 3, 2019: Honda will not fix the defective tail light under warranty. They assigned me a case mang and he told me so sad too bad. I told them the light has a bad gasket and still nothing. The dealer wants $300 to replace it.
