My new car has broken down 3 times since I bought it in September this year 2020. The display panel and radio and back up camera and all the other electronics tied into the panel do not work when the car is started. Now it is only 3 months old. It is in the garage again. They have witnessed the malfunction and I have a video of the malfunction occurring however, because it is intermittent, they cannot reproduce it. They are telling me that because it is intermittent, they cannot fix it. So now I have a new car that is not repairable and likely not safe to drive. The Honda dealership and Honda Canada is now telling me that I must continue to monitor the problem but they are not willing to say that they will fix the problem. They keep telling me... because it is intermittent and not traceable it is not fixable. I am driving a new malfunctioning vehicle that is not repairable. They are also not willing to assure me that it is safe to drive.

My old car (17 years old), a Ford, drove like a charm for the first 17 years. It was not repairable either because it had an electrical short. My car shorted out while I was driving 100km on the hwy at night in the rain. The motor shut off, and the lights shut off. I could not see anything and did not know if I was going off the road. Other vehicles could not see my car barrelling down the road at 100 km per hour toward them and vehicles behind me did not know I was in front of them. My car shut off for about 30 seconds and then came on again. I thought I was going to die. The problem was intermittent and not traceable therefore not fixable.....

Currently I'm trying to get my money back on my new 2020 HRV Honda or get another new car. I talked to another dealership who said that I have already lost about $10,000 dollars by driving the car off the dealership lot and would likely have to pay a total of 14,000 to get another new car in exchange for my new 3 month old car. I will likely have to enter some type of Mediation process with Honda Canada to try to re-coupe the cost of my new car. The fact that I have a 3 year all-inclusive warranty does not seem to matter to the dealership or to Honda Canada. They do not seem interested in fixing my car. I have a feeling that the mediation process will benefit Honda Canada and the dealership. The mediation is done by Honda Canada. I might need to go get a lawyer to get through this ordeal.

I am very stressed by this and I am losing sleep. This situation has been going on since Dec. 1, 2020. and it is exhausting me. I'm driving a rental car again and the dealership is threatening me that if I do not pick up my malfunctioning car I will have to pay for the rental. Can anyone out here help me?
