The contact owned a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 MPH and decreasing in speed to exit the highway, a vehicle in front stopped abruptly. The contact depressed the brake pedal with force, however, the brake pedal was soft and traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated she turned the steering wheel in the left direction but was difficult to turn and crashed into a vehicle's driver's side rear bumper and quarter panel. The contact stated that she was able to stop and turn the vehicle off. The contact stated the passenger front side bumper, the grill, and part of the passenger side quarter panel had been crushed by the crash. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. No injuries were reported. The contact stated that she drove the vehicle off of the highway, but had to stop due to multiple warnings illuminated on the instrument cluster including a "do not drive" warning. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The insurance provider declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

The contact owned a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, a deer abruptly attempted to cross the roadway, causing the contact to veer off the roadway in an attempt to avoid a collision. As a result, the contact collided head-on with a tree. The air bags did deploy but were only partially inflated. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss. A police report was filed, but no injuries were reported. The contact did not receive medical attention on the day of the collision. However, the contact later transported himself to an area hospital and was treated for chest and abdominal pain. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 7,500.
