As I was driving, there was a loud explosion which blew off the back of the offside door mirror and shattered the mirror itself to smithereens: the rest of the mirror assembly was unscathed. When I tried to park in a car park about two minutes later, there was suddenly no electrical power: the engine, brakes and power steering would not work. When I returned to the car less than an hour later, the electrics were working normally. The nearest Honda dealership, Johnson's of Kidlington, say they cannot get a replacement mirror for 3 weeks, and I am wondering whether to have the electrics checked in the meantime, for safety's sake.
