There is something leaking rain water into the van's interior whenever it rains. The area under the rear seats (the seat storage well) gets wet whenever it rains. This is an awful problem if the seats happen to be folded down when it rains. The amount of moisture doesn't seem to be very much, but it doesn't take much before the car starts smelling moldy & gross from this problem. I called the dealer looking for ideas and was given a bogus answer about some specialist in my area called "Water Doctor" being my best bet for help, but I couldn't find any such business. So I asked at the local body shop if they had any ideas and they could only guess that it could be one of these items: "gas filler boot, tail lights, wiper or washer, door rubber, luggage rack, windows"? I can't afford to reseal every exterior accessory, so I'm going to dump the car on the market. I don't think it's the door rubber but that's about the only guess I have. I'm just sick of it, wife won't ride in it any longer so - goodbye old horse.....

Seat belts get soaking wet inside the retractors. This happened when the car was parked on a level spot during a moderate rain. This Van does have a rear A/C unit on the ceiling but it had not been in use. This van also has a factory luggage rack. Honda dealer wants to play the hunt & peck game with my money - by having me bring the car in for them to HUNT for the source. My idea is that this is not the only 98 Odyssey that has been brought to them with this same problem and I'll bet that they know EXACTLY where the source of this leak is, but they can make more money by denying it. See my last updated post concerning the fixing of the other leak into the cargo area of the van. The dealer wanted to play the same game on that leak too, but I decided to replace the tail light gaskets myself & I lucked out.

Car smells awful (moldy) inside after a rain, due to water leaking into the interior. There is something letting rain water into the van's interior whenever it rains. I can't afford to reseal every exterior accessory hoping that I finally find the offending seal, so I'm going to dump the car on the market. I don't think it's the door rubber but that's about the only guess I have. I'm just sick of it, wife won't ride in it any longer so - goodbye old horse..... Seems like a stupid reason to dump a good running car that doesn't use oil and is also problem free otherwise, but not everyone can handle breathing in airborn mold spores (like my wife), and it's so bad now that I can't get the smell out.
