On August 16, 2010 at 3:12pm, I received email stating: "after inspection the tire it is not on the recall list." Message was sent to mfr. On May 8, 2010: To customer service; I purchased 98T futura 2000 lte part number 8694568 2156516 and when I was on I95, I had to exit to go to the nearest dealer of tires (hoping to avoid a towing bill) being Firestone tire place just off of I95 at the palm beach lakes blvd. Area in palm beach county, Florida. Your tire acted like a flat tire would being on a major highway. Your tire was looking very wavy and when taken off the vehicle looked like a partial twisted pretzel. I got my vehicle re-aligned, as well as, purchased a new Firestone tire! replacing tire with approx. Less than 30 days from your tire purchase. I was going out-of-town to my dad's home, a trip approx. 100 miles away one way when this happened in route. I kept the tire and at the time I thought it was an isolated defective tire and was going to write to the manufacturer for remedy. I'm just discovering that there is a recall on this particular tire and expect to be compensated for! truly yours, [xxx] and please send any mailings to: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 1999 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the passenger side sliding door completely opened without assistance and warning. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and closed the door. The failure continuously occurs while making turns. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the vehicle had been previously repaired according to NHTSA campaign id number 99V158000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors, latch). The recall remedy has not corrected the failure. The vehicle has been repaired. The failure mileage was 500 and current mileage was 183,000.

The sliding door behind the driver will not open many times. Sometimes it sticks and even my husband can only open it after repeated powerful pulls. Sometimes it stays locked. The other sliding door is very difficult to open sometimes also.

In August the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the left sliding door not working properly. They advised it had a broken center roller and it was replaced (at a deductible cost 100). In November the dealer was contacted and advised the same door they worked on was beeping continuously (the chime for the door not latched), and that there was 1 occurrence of the door opening on the highway 1foot on it's own. The dealer looked it and advised it had a broken latch. Over the next 2 weeks they were contacted 2 times for me to be advised it wasn't in yet. 3 weeks after the last visit to the dealer they said I could bring it in on Friday 12/28. By this time the door had opened for the second time on it's own. They initially looked at the door and asked what was the problem--they were again advised of the problems. They replaced the door latch again at a deductible cost of 100. The mechanic advised they work on these all of the time and he felt they should get a better fix since it is safety related (mini-van, doors opening on own, children--didn't mix). The vehicle was purchased as a Canadian model. VIN [xxx], I have NHTSA recall campaign notice 00V119000 but was advised my vehicle didn't "need" that done. It didn't fall in the recall program---based on my 2 problems I feel it should. Please let me know what I may do to see that this is fixed properly. I am thinking of selling the vehicle due to this safety problem but cannot in good conscience pass this only another person. Thank you.
