Honda sent an "important safety recall" to me. It stated that the parts needed to repair my vehicle are not available. It said no action should be taken by me until parts are made available. I called Honda whose representative stated: 1) the notice really wasn't very important and was only issued to meet a NHTSA requirement. 2) there have only been three incidents and those involved derelict cars in scrap yards. 3) most affected vehicles would only require inspection and not a replacement part. There have been widespread press reports of a fatality and an injury caused by this defect. "BMW says in documents posted by the U.S. government Wednesday that another australian and a driver in cyprus were injured." Https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/04/takata-recalls-1point4-million-potentially-dangerous-air-bag-inflators.html the absence of parts does not prevent an inspection. That inspection would tell me if my car was safe to drive. Please compel Honda to carry out inspections regardless of the availability of replacement parts. In the event the car is found unsafe, please compel Honda to provide a replacement vehicle.
