problem #2

Odyssey EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,000 miles

In May 2010, SRS light came on. Dealer diagnosis - sensor in passenger seat was bad and would be replaced under Honda warranty that was extended to 150k miles due to known problem. In Aug 2010, SRS light came on again. This time, Dealer diagnosis was SRS Control Unit failure - not covered under revised safety warranty. Estimated cost $500+tax. Up until this point, I have been happy with Honda vehicles and service. Very disappointed that this major and apparently common safety issue is not covered under warranty.

This is the 7th time I have had the SRS light go on because of a seatbelt tensioner problem! Honestly, am I the only person getting faulty seatbelt tensioners? Frustrating to deal with because they need the van for a day to diagnose the problem and then they need a day to fix it. So far, I have lost 12 days of driving my van just for this recurring problem! If I could charge them for the time they have inconvenienced me .....!
