Automatic sliding doors are not operational - either opening/closing by hand or by button control. They are not closing properly.

Without any warning the engine light and the tcs light came on in my van, I was told by the dealer just from that information "oh you need a new transmission" I had Honda perform all required servicing on the vehicle as defined yet it still failed. Also my van has the same ignition issue (key can be removed without the vehicle in park) that Honda recalled cars for, yet when I contacted my dealer he said it's not part of the recall so they would not fix it. I guess it's unsafe in a car but safe in a van.

You can remove the ignition key from the ignition switch when the vehicle is in gears other than P (park).

I am the owner of a 2003 Honda Odyssey. I have been having trouble with the ignition switch. I am able to remove the key without the van being placed in park. I do not have to struggle the least amount to get the key to come out; it slips right out of the ignition whether the van is in park or in gear without hesitation. This has occurred accidentally on a few occasions only to be realized when I return to my vehicle. After the first incident, I tried to duplicate it with knowledge and sure enough, the key came right out while the van was still in driving gear.

2003 Honda Odyssey ignition switch: We can remove the key without putting the vehicle in park problem has existed for at least 1 year. Vehicle does not appear to be covered by a recall for this problem (per Honda recall lookup by VIN), but npr reports that Honda has recalled some 1.4 million vehicles for this problem, including minivans (www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyid=129085652 ) it seems likely that our vehicle model & year should be included in the recall, but is not.

Automatic sliding doors do not operate correctly. The passenger side power sliding door closes but not quite all the way, it will not "engage", or "catch". therefore, the van thinks the door is still open (open door light is on, buzzes continually when put into gear, and interior lights stay on). However, the power sliding door indicator light is not on, so the van thinks the door is fine, but still open. I have to get out, walk around, and physically bump the rear of the door the final centimeter or so to get it flush. For some reason the back lock part isn't "catching." This occurs almost every time the door is shut. This is a danger for any children riding in the car if the door is not engaged. Fuse #13 has been taken out so doors were reset and everything cleaned and oiled.

The driver side power door on my 2003 Honda Odyssey will not close all the way. It opens as I drive down the road. It is the rear latch system on the drivers side power sliding door. This is the same issue that the 1999's were having and they were recalled. This issue is extremely dangerous and in my opinion needs to be fixed asap.

Ignition lock failure. In 2007, our driver's side door lock ceased working, but we've worked around it. Now the ignition lock stopped working. "wear and tear" according to the dealer. This is the second incident like this on NHTSA's site.

Just getting old, maybe the motor is getting weak, but the automatic doors on my 2003 Honda Odyssey have stopped latching completely. We have kids in the van, and it is a real safety issue, and from what I've read trying to fix this problem, it seems to me like this is very frequent problem worthy of a recall before something terrible happens.

2003 Honda Odyssey power doors will not close unless forced. Indicators alert that the doors are not closed. Sometimes the door will not reopen leaving passengers (kids) not able to get out. Never sure that the door is engaged properly so that the door will not open once in motion.

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the doors on the vehicle fail to shut properly. NHTSA campaign id number 00V119000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch) was referenced for an earlier model. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that both latch assembly motors needed to be replaced. One of the rollers needed to be replaced again, which had previously been replaced in the past year. In addition, the passenger side body junction switch needed to be repaired. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact would have to pay $905 for the repair. The failure and current mileages were 177,000.

Sliding doors on 2003 Honda oddosey swing open and malfunction on highway at high travel speeds. 3 times this problem has occured on this vehicle. Dealer charges $700 to repair a safety problem tha continually repeats itself. Door does not work properly and is a major safety risk to anyone not wearing a seat belt in midrow seats.

The power door on my Honda Odyssey is failing to latch on so it is not secured. I'm forced to drive with the buzzer going off so I had to turn off the switch. There are safety hazards as the door may actually open while I'm driving. One of the reasons we bought the vehicle with the power door is to have some help if I'm carrying my children in and out of the car and now it seems like I'm having to either turn on the switch to open the door or I had to close and open the heavy door manually. Please look in to these matters as these may cause safety hazards with the door opening suddenly. Sincerely, rachel estrada

Honda Odyssey 2003. Need key to open locks on doors. Driver door key lock was sticky and now over time impossible to use key. Have had dealership and auto body shop to look at it to try to fix. Suggested replacement of locks. Now the passenger side is sticking. The only door I can stick key into now, is the back hatch door! this van is only 4 years old.......this started happening over a year ago. Why would this be happening? my original warranty has expired, but this is a defect Honda should repair.
