Odyssey EX V6

I have had 5 window regulators replaced in my 2004 Honda Odyssey.

2 Front Driver side windows, 3 Front passenger side windows

3/12/2007 - Front passenger 5/08/2009 - Front Driver 10/26/2009 - Front passenger (2nd time) 8/18/2014 - Both Front passenger and front driver side windows failed in last 2 days - both being replaced again (3rd time for passenger side, 2nd time for driver's side)

Honda refused to do anything and told me to ask Honda dealership service manager for help.

I will never buy Honda again. This Odyssey has been a maintenance nightmare - have had to replace air conditioner twice as well.

Driving down the road and my drivers side window came crashing down! Drove to Honda & they replaced it. The passenger window did this a few years earlier, but fortunately that was covered under warranty.

Windows not working is a pain. Both windows went out within a year of each other. Now that I think of it, the vent windows havent worked in a couple years either. Total cost was over 450.

Last year the passenger side regulator went, now last month the drivers regulator went...Why would Honda not cover this obvious error. Next car (buying one by end of year) will not be a Honda.

This is my 5th power window regulator to break on this Honda!!! I already had the 2 front window regulators replaced in 2008. Now, one of them is broken again! Apparently, they were replaced with the same crap parts as before. I was told there is only 1 part source for the drivers window, so you have no choice. I guess the other window is going to go soon too. I don't even use the car that much, that's what makes this even more infuriating.

I already replaced both front window regulators when they broke in 2008 at 35,000 miles. Now, only 3 years later, my driver's side window is broken AGAIN! I was driving the car, not even using the window, & heard a loud bang that sounded like someone threw a big rock at the car. The worst thing is, I'm told that nobody else makes this left window replacement part but Honda, so I have to replace it again with the same piece of crap that only lasted 3 years last time! There's obviously something wrong with my door, or with this part, and Honda doesn't care because it's past the 1 year part warranty. I've had it with Honda, they really don't make them like they used to.

So, my driver door regulator had been broken for 8 1/2 months. My AC wasn't working either.... both issues have already been complained about. A little over a week ago, the regulator in the passenger door broke, too!! No AC, can't put down either window, and to think I bought my car because you aren't supposed to have these type of problems with a Honda. I am beginning to think that all cars suck!

The window is being held up by the second pack of $1.47 door stops from Wal-Mart. I look like Fred Sanford with both of my doors held up with door stops!

On a trip 12 hours from home, we thought we had been shot at. Then we realized it was just that the driver window had fallen. We drove back home with cardboard shoved down in the crack of the window to hold it in place. After making several calls to glass shops and auto parts stores, we concluded it was most likely a bracket included in the regulator that had broken making the sound of a gun shot.

We bought a 3 pack of door stops from Wal-Mart for $1.47 and shoved them down in the crack of the window and have been driving the car like that since (8 1/2 months). No drive thrus or ATMs for us. We thought the situation was a little funny until the passenger door regulator did the same thing last week!! I write about the issue with my AC in an additional complaint. No air for us, US or fresh!! Piece of crap car!

I bought this car from Honda dealer as new. All of the 4 window regulators were broken just slightly before and after warranty time (2006 - 2007) and were replaced by the dealer. Honda refused to pay the cost for two of them (front). This Monday (1/17/2011), 3 of them were broken again at the same time. The dealer told me that their replacement only has 1 year warranty.

I have a 1997 Toyota Camry. The window regulators still work fine. I checked with my friends. They never encountered similar problems. I also consulted with auto shops. They told me this is abnormal. I believe that this is a defect of their parts. Should Honda be responsible for the cost?

1st time, driver's side window fell into door frame and was told regulator needed to be replaced ($261.00). This was in August, 2010. In December, 2010, same problem on the passenger side window. Only $231.00 this time. ?

I've owned seven Honda's and never had a repair like this one that Honda would not cover. $600.00 to repair/replace the rear vent window motors/actuators. Absurd. I purchased a Nissan in 08 as a second car. Probably not going to buy another Honda.

This is the second time this exact problem has occurred in the past two years. Today it happened and, of all things, it is pouring rain today! The window fell with a thud and wouldn't come back up. I knew what it was because it is the second time it has happened on this car, the same window (driver's door) and the dealer refuses to cover it because they say the warranty has expired since the last time they fixed it. I am livid.

Update from Jul 18, 2011: This is now the third time in 4 years that one of my window regulators has broken, causing the window to crash down inside the door with a scary sound. I wasn't even putting it up or down, I was just driving when it happened. This time it was the passenger front window, and it will be another $200+ dollars to fix it. I have had it with Honda, will never buy another one...they keep replacing these things with the same defective parts, over and over. They actually had the nerve to tell me that if it had been the same window for a third time, instead of the other side, they might consider a claim, but will not do anything for me b/c this is the passenger side window. DUH, they repair it with the same defective part regardless of which door its in... My 8 year old knows that much.

Update from Mar 10, 2015: This window thing has happened a total of 4 times, 3 times on the driver's side and once on the passenger side. Honda had the nerve to tell me maybe I was "using my window too much". Really?

The driver side window regulator broke. I purchased and installed the new one. The glass should go down or up automatically when the lever is pushed. Now it is not doing it. I have to keep the lever pushed enabling the glass to move up or down. I called Maroone Honda of Hollywood in Florida dealer shop, where I bought the part. They only told me they provided the correct part. Nothing they can do. It is definitively out of spec. The passenger side one broke four months ago. I installed that one without any problem.

this is the 4th power window in my odyssey to break in the last year! there's not even 35,000 miles on it. i paid more for the Honda name thinking i was getting a better quality car. i think it's disgraceful the way Honda has gone downhill. i wrote Honda a letter after the 3rd window regulator broke, and it cost $202 to repair. i have yet to get any kind of reimbursement for these defective parts.
