Sliding door will get stuck. Center door bracket 72521-shj-A21 is defective, small plastic wheel will get worn and comes off. Improper design and lack of routine lubrication is the cause.

The driver side electric sliding door will not close all the way.

The driver side rear sliding door on my 2005 Honda Odyssey opened while I was driving down the road at 55 mph. If this is not a safety issue, I don't know what is!!!!!!

2005 Honda Odyssey liftgate struts failed. Opened the rear liftgate to remove something from the trunk and the liftgate did not stay up. Now everytime I try and open the liftgate, I would need to open with one hand and remove items or put items inside with the other hand.

Left (driver's side) sliding door on Honda Odyssey will not close or lock. Had to drive to the dealer with the door constantly opening and my children inside the car. My friend sat on the back seat to try to keep the door closed. I do think this is a safety issue since this happened out of the blue without any warning at all. The dealer said that "Honda does not see it as a safety issue". I see the door property closing as a safety issue since it is a family car with children involved. I see it as a safety issue just like I see seat belts as a safety issue. I think there is something wrong with this problem, it is unsafe.

Vehicle is a 2005 Honda Odyssey ex with 89K miles. The passenger-side front power door lock failed, and also prevented the door lock from being manually unlocked. This was first noticed on December 13, 2009. There is no damage to the door, either externally or internally. The power door lock control button works correctly to open the other doors. A passenger sitting in this seat cannot open the door, and it cannot be opened from the outside -- it remained locked. I reported this to the local dealership where the vehicle was purchased, and it was stated this type of failure has never occurred before. I obtained a repair quote of approximately $200, assuming the lock actuator was at fault. I then brought the vehicle to an independent repair shop on Dec.23, 2009; the interior door panel was removed, and it was confirmed the lock actuator had failed. The part (P/N 72115-S6A-J01) had to be ordered, and the faulty component was replaced on Jan.4, 2010. Total cost from the independent repair shop was $120.96. I have retained the failed component.

I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey ex-L, I am the original owner. For approx 1.5 years the left sliding passenger door has been inoperable. For the first approx. 2 months the door would not latch properly without manually slamming or bumping it shut several times. Then, it froze, and would not open. Since I have small children, I was fine with it staying shut. Suddenly, last month (Aug 7), the door popped open while I was driving with my 6 year old in the seat by the door. Thankfully, we were not on the freeway at the time & I was able to pull over. After playing with the door for several minutes, I was able to secure it and return home. The door is now frozen again. At this point, I am afraid to Transport my 3 kids in this car. Honda does not seem to consider this a safety issue. We cannot get this repaired under warranty as it has expired and is not under a recall.

Rear sliding door rear door latch will not latch when door pulled in allowing rear of door to remain unlatched. Pulls in but then releases again allowing rear of door to stick out, indicating light for door open to stay on and interior lights stay on. Buzzer for sliding door activates as soon as vehicle placed in gear. Can pull the rear of the door open from outside the vehicles.

2005 Honda Odyssey touring automatic hatch closed on me while I was retrieving items.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the sliding door on the vehicle slides open because the latch fails to close completely. While driving around curves at various speeds, the sliding door opens intermittently. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer twice and they cleaned the track where it slides; however, no parts have been replaced. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Vibration and shuttering getting worse over time became so bad it was difficult to control car. Dealer said 3 of 4 engine mounts were bad. This is 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan.
- Bloomfield Hills, MI, USA
Front door would not open in "un-locked" position. Taken to dealer who said that a cable broke from wear and tear. We do not excessively open and close the door. Had to pay for replacement of door panel due to dealer destroying it to get to the cable.
- Hinckley, OH, USA
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. While driving 35 mph, the driver side sliding door opened on its own. Two weeks prior to the failure, the contact noticed that the driver's side sliding door would close, but the instrument panel light indicated that the door was ajar. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 39,214.
