About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I have a sunshine kids radian xtsl installed with latch rear facing in my Honda Odyssey. Due to the location of the release lever for the latch strap, my son is able to easily loosen the strap with his foot while we are driving. It also loosens if he accidentally hits it with his food when climbing into the seat. As a cpst, I feel that this is a major design flaw. While I am well aware that I can install the seat using the seat belt, superlatch is a major selling feature of the radian line, and it is defective in my car. The strap should not be so easy to loosen. I can do it with the light touch of just one finger. Please make sunshine kids address the dangerous and potentially fatal issue. (related vehicle information: Model year=2005, make=Odyssey, model=Honda).
