Navigation system failed--have been to two dealers with no help. First dealership on Dixie Hwy.consistently blew us off and even had the service manager call us to state he would help but then when we arrived he came to greet us and then walked around the corner and had another employee stated he had to go to a meeting with no one to help. Filed report with Honda which I have learned is not recorded. Second dealership ran diagnostics but couldn't identify the problem. Stated could send unit out to Alpine for additional diagnostics at cost of 300 (on top of their price) and then may have a resolution. Honda is refusing to offer any help even though the Navi system with this model has had problems.

Somehow the Helpful Honda People decided that my navigation disc needs to be updated and in helping me to understand that, the old disc has shut the system down. While I don't mind using my "smart" phone to navigate for me, (though I was quite happy with my "old" map), I am thoroughly upset with the fact that it has shut down my entire console. I can no longer set my clock, retrieve any information that was stored, look at a map, and above all else, it has shut down the use of my back-up camera. While I understand the gimmick of making you have to purchase a new map, I would think rendering the back-up camera useless a safety hazard.
Restoring a safety feature to my vehicle seems as though it should be a recall issue, not just another out of pocket expense.
