roof leak - defective caulk on roof rack channels
I removed the roof racks and the headliner trying to understand how I am getting so much water on the top of the right pillar between the front passenger door and the sliding door, and the second spot on the same side but all the way in the back above the window but flooded the trunk. Outside after removing the roof racks, the channels were rust free but inside rust spots where the water leaks. Carefully I added water on the channel and water was just flowing above the pillar. The only think that could be happening is a defective factory caulk on that channel. Honda Dealership told me to bring the car to a auto body shop and they said "water leak is complicated" but advise to buy some 3M window sealant and cover the channel. After doing that the leak continues. And now my friends and Honda Motor Co, I have a mad wife and kids driving our nice 2005 Odyssey EX with the roof leaking at summer time in South Florida. Would Honda stand for their defective product? I owned Toyota, Nissan, bmw but never owned a car with this kind of defect before.

The rubber perishes and the water starts coming in and rusting the roof and floor pan from inside.
