Odyssey Touring V-Tec V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 230,000 miles

This is really disturbing that something as vital as the crank shaft pulley will simple FALL OFF and disable the vehicle and prevent an average driver from driving to a safe stopping place. I lost power steering in traffic and thought I had a broken belt ("battery" & "check charging system" lights came on) until I got to a place I could safely stop and determined what had happened.

DESIGN CHANGE - for HONDA !!!

Have the outer shell of the crank pulley designed in such a way that even if the "rubber" vibration damper is destroyed the outer drive shell (with the belt "grooves") cannot fall off & continues to turn with the inner crank shaft hub. i.e. the driver doesn't experience sudden loss of power steering.

Odyssey Touring 3.5L

The dealer said they had never seen a crank shaft pulley that was defective. I lost power steering and was running off the battery for electrical power. I was only 3 miles from the dealer so I made it without any problem.
