The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that when accelerating between 25 to 30 mph, the transmission began to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer since there was an existing warranty but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure became progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The manufacturer agreed to pay fifty percent of the repair costs since the warranty was no longer valid. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The current mileage was approximately 77,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the torque converter was replaced. Several months after the repair the failure resurfaced. The technician at the dealer has not been able to duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.
