I have had to replace 4 wheel bearing on the van since owning it in sept 2005. all except the front driver side have been replaced. the back passenger side was replaced 2 times. finally after the third time with wheel bearing issues, between the dealer and honda the costs were covered even though not under warranty. I paid enough for the first 2.

Enroute from Denver to Duluth, MN. "Different" sound in front end. Honda dealer in Duluth (7/3/08) said bearing in left front needed replacing and to bring the vehicle in on Monday morning. Only 42,000 miles on vehicle. Was at dealer ship at 7 AM Monday morning. Was informed that bearing had to be trucked in from Minneapolis. Would not arrive until Tuesday afternoon. Was informed that it was not uncommon for bearings to go out at 42,000 miles. I think that is substandard quality for bearings to go out at 42,000 miles. (I have been driving for over 54 years, have had many, many vehicles and have not had a bearing go out since we used to pack them ourselves.)So why didn't the dealer have a bearing in stock? And why did it take from Thursday AM until Tuesday pm to have bearing delivered from a city a couple of hours away? It was fortunate, in terms of expense, that I was staying with my daughter and not in a motel .
This is my second Honda and it might very well be my last!

Arrivede Duluth, MN 7/2/08. Took the vehicle to the Honda dealer on 7/3/08, 7AM. Service Manager rode in car and said it was the left whell bearing. (I advised him that I have been driving cars for over 60 years and haven't had a wheel bearing problems since the days when we used to pack the bearing ourselves, and why would these bearing go out at 42,000 miles?) He advised me to return the car MondayAM., that he had no time spaces that day, Friday was the 4th. (Holiday) so bring the car in Monday morning. I did...7 AM. He then advised me that they could not get a bearing up from Minneapolis until Tuesday afternoon! (It was fortunate for me that we were visiting a daughter and not having to stay in a motor.) Why would a dealer not have at least on set of bearings in stock? The car was ready at 3 PM on Tuesday afternoon as promised by the manager.
