Please review your 10V-055000 concerning 2005 Honda Odyssey touring's rear lift gate support cylinders. My vehicle is a 2006 with the same problem. The problem occurred before the expiration of the 36 month/36000 mile warranty. Unfortunately, my wife did not tell me of the problem until a week after the 36 month warranty expired. Honda shows the part number for this lift cylinder as 74820-shj-A61. This part number was used on 2005-2008 vehicles. The local Honda dealer at first was unwilling to do anything. After I insisted he call Honda, he informed me that there was a recall in progress. However, since my vehicle was not currently a part of the affected vehicles, the best Honda would do was pay for the replacement parts if I paid the dealership for the labor. Sounds to me like Honda knows they have a bigger problem, but are unwilling to expand the recall. Instead, they are trying to fix the larger problem on the cheap. And then, only if they are called to task about it. It is clear to me, that as time goes on, the 2006, 2007, and 2008 vehicles will experience the same problems. Please get this recall expanded to include the 2006-2008 vehicles, as well as the 2005 vehicles. It is the same part number for all vehicles, 2005-2008.
