Bought Odyssey new, fully expected to drive it 200,000 miles with appropriate maintenance - replaced timing belt and all other scheduled items. Took it in to repair left passenger door that opens slightly by itself (5th time), asked them to check ticking noise when engine cold - sounded like a plastic part rubbing.
Dealer pulled head, advised camshaft was scored and damaged by unknown object, could not provide reason but was concerned for metal shavings in oil. Options were to rebuild my motor, buy Honda rebuilt motor or buy a used motor. I chose used motor and will unload vehicle immediately. The nagging door issue I can live with, but I NEVER thought I would lose a properly maintained motor in a vehicle touted for it's dependability. The vehicle is still solid otherwise, I am truly disappointed.
