I have a 2006, EX Honda Odyssey with a side to side steering wheel vibration from 60 mph to 70 mp. The vibration comes and goes and when it vibrates it gets into a harmonics that requires slowing down to 45 mph to go away, shifting to neutral makes no difference, sometimes turning the steering wheel calms it down if there is no feathering on the tires. When the tires were rotated it use to gets better but the problem has gotten worse. I've replaced all except engine rear mount & steering rack. What is that I should try?

Oscillations in steering wheel when accelerating through 60 -70 MPH. Honda service center said that this was due to either hole in high pressure hose (power steering high pressure hose leaking & sucking air) or bad steering rack. Quoted cost was to replace high pressure hose.
Update from Sep 7, 2016: Replaced the high pressure coupling and power steering hose and had tires balanced and rotated. This seemed to wholly alleviate the problem. Even when accelerating through 60-70 MPH and upward I feel no vibration.

Like others on this site I have experienced steering wheel vibration at higher speeds above 60 MPH. Wheel alignments have not fixed the problem. The issue seems to subside some when the ECO light illuminates, but it seems more pronounced when the accelerator is engaged and the ECO light is off.

I had a lot of vibration in the steering wheel, however, I thought that when I replaced the tires (and the Power Steering pump) that this would go away. It has significantly reduced after new tires, etc, however, there is still some vibration in the steering wheel. With a brand-new PS pump, brand new tires balanced and a 4-wheel alignment, there should be no vibration at all. Not sure what to check next.

van has vibration in steering wheel at about 65 to 70.Had PAK TIRES that would not stay in balance. New 17" wheels and tires at 29000,worked fair, rotated and balanced at 34,000...shimmy back.
New wheels 2 more sets of tires NEW STRUTS PUT ON.Now at 42000 ,it still SHIMMIES .PAID OUT OF POCKET.

Took the van in because my wife couldn't park it the steering was so stiff. They replaced the power steering pump and it cured the stiffness in the steering. then we noticed small jerking type feedback in the steering wheel at almost all speeds but most noticeable at very low speeds. Took van back and was told I have a problem with the tires. I think the steering rack is hooped and that's what caused the PS pump to crash in the first place. I will change the tires out and I'm hoping they're correct about that being the cause. I hate to think what kind of fight I'll have if the steering rack really is done. If they say it's a "typical feel' or something like that, I'll come unglued. I'll update as soon as tires are changed. The initial inspection cost me $90 bucks to come up with the "Tires are bad" answer. Good luck Honda if it isn't the tires!!

steering wheel vibration from the day we bought the vehicle. we now have 32000 miles less 5% (that's another issue) and have had 3 new sets of tires along with rotating, balancing, new set of wheels/rims... from another van, and axles replaced and we still have an annoying as hell vibration in the steering wheel. seems to be most noticeable at 70+ highway speeds. One set of tires was even "road force balanced" (that was a $75 hit out of my pocket) and the issue was tire tread wobble? i think Michelin is in on this conspiracy.

Have a vibration in the steering wheel especially when I'm coasting or just starting
to throttle up. I can feel it at low speeds when going through town also. Dealer has
rotated tires and balanced and said should fix, it hasn't it. I'm going to start complaining
loader since I only have 25,000 miles and is still under warranty.

I have experienced the same thing as Bob - excessive vibration at 3 points - when the car was taking off - when the car reached around 60 mph, and when the car started to brake. Had it in 3 different times for the same thing - they said I needed new tires - got new tires - they said I needed an alignment - got the alignment - then they said they didn't know what it was but that they would take a look at it. Today they called and said they THINK it's one of the engine mounts. Supposedly the engine mounts have little motors in them to absorb the vibrations from the engine. They have to order the part of course - so I'll let you know next week if that helped.

While driving at steady speed (40-50 MPH) I feel excessive road feel coming through steering wheel. Even on very smooth surface I still feel it. It is not the vibration from being on over drive (5th gear) at slow speed. It almost feels like I have off road tires on vehicle. Dealer and Factory Service Rep. say this is a "Driving Characteristic" for this vehicle. They are talking about the vibration felt from being in overdrive at a fairly slow speed. I can't get them to ignore that and concentrate on the other vibration.

Problem got worse and worse, year after year.
Mechanic saw CV axles in the front were going bad, and had to be replaced.
After they were replaced, no more problems!
