Not sure what will happen but one thing I am positive about is if something does happen, Honda will not stand behind their product. They have a good quality record because if you do not complain they will not tell you about a problem like GM. They will only run the "campaigns" if you ask. I find this extremely concerning when it comes to safety issues.
When they replaced the master cylinder for "another" brake issue of a campaign, my wife pulled out of the garage and ended up in the neighbors yard when the brake pedal went to the floor. I contacted everyone I could in the Dayton OH area that represented Honda and not one individual would stand behind their product and would not address what I considered an extreme safety concern. That is why I believe they have their quality rating today.
It is beyond comprehension why an automotive company in this era neglects to inform the public of safety concerns. hmmm, what about airbags?????

My 2006 Honda shudders between 30-40 mph when driving either when accelerating to this speed or beyond and when decelerating. Took it to the dealer they said its is likely my tires not balanced. I got a full new set of tires and the problem still persist. I will be visiting the dealer again. Is there any class action suit indicating this problem? My car has 55k miles as of today.

I am really disappointed because my 2006 Honda Odyssey purchased used from Pacific Honda San Diego in 2012 need already a new transmission at 99.899 miles. I contacted customer care and they told me that there is nothing they can do about it and that there is not going to be any financial help from the Honda company.
With my previous Honda 2000 I did 260,000 miles, towing furniture, motorcycle etc. and never had a problem with the transmission. I was expecting to be served by this vehicle in the same way or better since newer and with less miles.
Definitely this is my last Honda since this company do not stay behind is products and the quality and longevity of the new cars are far less that used to be.
By the way, Toyota offers 100,000-mile Limited Powertrain Warranty, I guess I will have to change favorite car company after all these wonderful years with Honda, starting with my first bike 1991, Honda XL600, followed by a 1996 Civic and a 2000 Odyssey.

I noticed this judder around the 40 mph particularly uphill. I started noticing it more after the transmission was flushed at the last A service. Not sure of the diagnosis but I will be taking it to the dealer to check if the FW update can be performed on it or whether the TC needs to be replaced.

I called Honda for help with the transmission. They said since it's not under warranty they can't help, but they will give me some discount . With discount I had to pay $4700 so I decided to get it fix locally. I will never buy Honda again and on top of that I put the van for sale trade in is $4000 and with 73000 miles on it and I can only sell it for $7500 . There is no resell value for Honda either. I saw Toyota Sienna selling for $10,000 dollars .

My car started having trouble while accelerating and I have noticed that the engine is starting to have a grinding noise. I took it to a reputable shop that told me the transmission is starting to fail and I will need to replace it in the next two months. I am the only owner of this car and have taken excellent care of it. Apparently Honda has had continued issues with their transmissions over the years. Both this shop and another that I spoke to told me they see many Honda's come through with the same problem.
I spoke to the Honda dealership and they told me the price to repair transmission would run between $5,000 and $5,500. The shop I am taking it to is installing a Jasper transmission with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty (parts and labor) vs. Honda's 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY ODYSSEY AND MAINTAIN IT LIKE ONE OF MY OWN, BUT WHEN A CHEVY TRANSMISSION SURPASSES A HONDA.........SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CHEVY TRANNY TOWS A 10K POUND CAMPER ALL AROUND.

Just bought my wife a 2006 Odyssey. Thought we would never have problems with it for at least 50 years! First day I took it home the "D" light started blinking on the dash. Got a code from a standard reader about the transmission. Now it studders when shifting almost 75% of the time; also when decellerating. Life is great though. Just spent $13k on a new van with transmission problems. Thanks Honda. I wish I could take back all of the great things I've said about you in the past.
Solution: Give up on motor vehicles and ride bicycles everywhere.

I purchased my Honda Odyssey used in 08 with 88k miles on it. Shortly after it started doing the shuddering bit when shifting from 3rd to 4th 35 and 50 and sometimes 60 mph. It usually happens when you are in a 40-45 mph zone and it wants to shift into 4th gear but not going fast enough to warrant the shift. I called the honda dealer and he wanted me to bring it by to check but I never got around to it. My solution has been to push the button on the shifter so it does not shift to 4th. I also noticed a kind of grinding noise when I first take off from the house and it shifts to 2nd.

SEEMS TO BE AN ON GOING PROBLEM FOR HONDA BUT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM FOR OWNERS
- ganena, Brunswick, Ga, US
SAME AS BEFORE, HONDA NEEDS TO MAKE SOME KIND OF CONCESSION HERE FOR A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THEIR PRODUCT. DIFFERENT YEAR VEHICLES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED BY HONDA, BUT SOMEHOW THIS YEAR & MAKE DOESN'T "FIT" THEIR CRITERIA. I NEED MY CAR REPAIRED BUT CANNOT AFFORD THE HIGH FEE
- ganena, Brunswick, Ga, US
Honda will be contacted and if they don't cover the repairs you'll hear back from me. This is ridiculous that a Honda has this sort of transmission problem at 65,000 miles! Especially after knowing they had similar problems in older, similar models.

Car shudders when shifting gears at lower speeds (20 - 40 MPH). Not sure what is causing the problem.
- Bob C., Bonita Springs, FL, US
I am disappointed as we have owned 5 Honda vehicles and I would never expect a problem with the transmission. It makes me now question the quality of Honda workmanship which they are known for (so I thought) for having few major issues with engines and transmissions repair or replacement ~ I am grateful that Honda Corp will cover most of the cost however, they really should cover it in full as we should not be dealing with any transmission problems on a Honda... I really can not believe ! It really makes me question buying another Honda ~ our van has 67600k ~ my sister is having the same problem on her 2006 as well...

Shudders when shifting at speeds between 30 and 50 mph. At first I thought was bad job on new paving on road, but happens on other roads. Traney fluid level okay. Read other complaints and agree that dealer would probably not fix.
8 more months on lease than turn in to get Kia or Hyundai. I bought a Honda even though get Ford employee pricing, for I heard so many bad stories about Windstar. Before this I had a Mazda MPV and got rid of at 65k miles due to engine problems.

I do not have a great problem but it is so annoying that at 45k miles the trans is acting up-I have problems with other car before this but it usually in the 150k miles and I paid a lot less for the car. I plan to run it to the dealer and it,s 45 miles away and I am to busy to make a time for this trip and I know that they will say that they could not find anything... "when it happen again just bring it back!!"..I may have to take a day or days off to battle this anoyant problems. The reason I buy Honda is not to have any of this problem..but I guess their quality is getting worse.

We bought a used 2006 Honda Odyssey and have had it 1.5 years before finding out that we need a new transmission. Aamco quoted $3200 for their rebuilt transmission. We have had a shudder when switching gears for about a month. It was really subtle. We got a transmission flush, but the issue still exists. We got a second transmission opinion & Aamco said there is something faulty in the transmission. Along with a timing belt & a broken control arm, I don't trust sticking with my Honda to see what else it will cost us way above and beyond what it's worth (this is not routine maintenance!).
I plan to move to a Toyota, but we haven't chosen between our horrible options yet. I just no longer trust Honda with all these transmission complaints. This is huge. I want to trust me & my kids are safe and that we won't throw anymore money away.
