With my wife driving our two small children, she was unable to use the windshield washer system to clean the windshield of our 2006 Honda Odyssey, while on a major highway in NJ. The fluid level was full, as I had filled it the day prior. It appears the windshield washer system freezes up when temperatures are below freezing, even when using washer fluid rated to -20 degrees. The temps that day were around +25 degrees.
This is a very serious problem when driving. If you cannot see out the windshield, it is certainly unsafe. The dealership was contacted and confirmed they have had other complaints, but there isn't a solution.
We will be contacting American Honda next, and urge all other owners to do the same. If no solutions from American Honda, we will be contacting an Attorney for legal advice.
