The driver's side lock actuator began to malfunction causing the doors to lock automatically and failing to unlock with remote. The only way to unlock the vehicle is to manually unlock with the key and the only way to fully lock the vehicle is to push down on driver's side lock button (on superior portion of door). This failure resulted in my two small children being locked inside a vehicle with the keys inside. At the time, they were too young to unbuckle themselves and get out of the vehicle. The problem began in the middle of the summer when temperatures inside a vehicle are dangerously high. We were told the repair would be approximately $400. In addition to the initial locking of the vehicle, it has posed additional safety hazards as people must wait on driver to manually open door, or to lock door. Security has been greatly affected. It is difficult to corral children while trying to unlock vehicle as well as posing security issues when in unsavory areas of town. As we understand, this has happened on a number of Honda vehicle models.

Our 2007 Honda Odyssey was working perfectly until yesterday when the hatch shut on me. It knocked me out for a minute. I don't know what happened that it just stopped working but it just missed our new puppy who was in my arms at the time.

I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey and the sliding doors do not latch properly, which could open while driving with my children sitting in the car. I get an audible chime telling me "a" door is ajar, but no warning light on the dash. When I come to a stop by hitting the breaks I hear the door finally close. This is a very scary knowing that I could be driving down the interstate and my doors could slide open at anytime. I have taken my car to the dealership numerous times in which they have replaced a failed door latch and tightened the chain and the problem still has not been corrected. I have seen many issues with this in other forums and I wonder what it is going to take for a recall to be issued.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that left side sliding door and the right front passenger door failed to unlock intermittently. She had to climb over to the other side or turn off the vehicle and restart it to get out the vehicle. Additionally, she noticed repeated problems with the steering; the vehicle would not hold an alignment and would drift to the side. Also, periodically, there was a grinding noise when she attempted to stop, as if she were driving on gravel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership several times where the tires were rotated and alignment was performed regarding the suspension problem. The dealer also installed a seal on the door but the failure continued. In reference to the brake problem, the dealer could not duplicate the failure but did attempt repairs which did not remedy the problem. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that they could not assist her. Current mileage was approximately 36,950. The failure mileage was approximately 20,500.

When I opened the rear power liftgate, it got almost completely open and then unexpectedly closed while making a beeping sound. It would have closed on my head if I didn't jump out of the way fast enough. I tried it again using the remote again and then w/ the liftgate button on the dashboard and it continues to malfunction.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was parked on an incline with the doors open and windows in the downward position. An occupant in the driver's seat unintentionally disengaged the automatic door off mechanism. Immediately, both passenger sliding doors closed forcefully without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for inspection and they stated that the failure could possibly be contributed to a manufacturer design flaw. The authorized dealer was notified of the failure, but there was no resolution. The failure mileage was 41,700 and current mileage was 42,000.
