OK..this is such an awful ugly problem and I have never seen it on any other car!
All the leather on the armrests have peeled off!!
AND on the driver seat at the top side the leather is very, very thin and has " made slits".
The leather on that seat is such a different texture than the others, the other ones are of a thicker leather and this one is as thin as paper.
We have showed this to the dealership with no action taken.
Has anyone else had this problem??? What can we do??!!

The front seats crack on the sides. Early on, Honda replaced the leather. New leather started cracking right away. Turns out the outside of the driver and front passenger seats aren't real leather. I am told it is synthetic so the side airbag can rip through. Who knows. But its crap fake leather.

I purchased the Odyssey because of my past experience with honda. I have a 2002 Honda Accord and the car has done very well. The seats in the 2002 Honda Accord are leather and still intact. No problem with bubbling and tearing. The Odyssey on the other hand, is awful. I noticed bubbling this past summer July 2011 and the areas just begin to shred and tear. There are areas that are continuing to bubble. I am not pleased due to the amount of money I have to pay for this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle because of the quality I had from my 2002 honda accord. I will tell anyone I meet not to purchase from Honda because they would not acknowledge that it is because of cheap material that was put in the car. I took my car to a upholstery place and the owner said that the leather is cheap vinyl and not even a good quality of vinyl. I feel that I have been cheated out of thousands of dollars with this vehicle. Of course, the dealership will never own up to its wrong doing. This is not good customer service to loyal customers who return to purchase from Honda. I have learned a great lesson from shopping with the Honda Company. They do not really care about the customers they just want your money and will try what ever it takes to get it. Now I am paying for a leather van with torn seats wow! I can not afford to replace the seats at this time because of my financial status. Very!Very! Disappointed with the Honda company. I will not purchase with them anymore.

The leather seats in my 2007 Honda Odyssey are cracking and tearing. Honda says this is wear. How can that be in a van that wasn't even 3 years old when I reported the problem. The dealer, Route 23 Honda, says they cannot do anything and I need to contact Honda directly. I read alot about problems with the Accord seats. Please write in if you have this same problem with your Odyssey.

Why buy Honda if this is what you get? Both front 'leather' seats melted when seat heaters were used (real leather doesn't melt). Safety hazard, but (so sorry) out of warranty. 'Leather' seats peeling everywhere. Absolute garbage materials. We've had other issues as well, but reported separately. We paid a lot of money for this van with the expectation of higher quality. It's not the case. Taffeta white paint peeling off everywhere, oil leaks, transmission leaks, AC failure, alternator failure, hydraulic and static motor mount failures, power steering failure - the list is long. We've owned several brand new Honda cars over the years, but no more. This van and Honda's failure to help us means we buy a different brand. So, again, why buy Honda if this is what you get?
