Open driver sliding door to place groceries and shut the door. There was a buzzing sound (which has sounded previously but goes away if the sliding door lock is put into place) as I attempted to drive. As I turned a corner, the door opened all the way while I was driving on a city street. I used the automatic door closer and it closed. Less than 10 minutes later, still while driving on a street, the door opened fully again. I braked and put the car in park and attempted to use the automatic door closer, and it closed, but opened again right after I started the car and turned a corner. I stopped the car and got out and attempted to close the door manually, but it wouldn't close tightly. Because I was only a block away from home, I drove home and parked in the garage. I attempted to close the door several times, but it wouldn't close completely shut. Later, I went back into the garage, I opened the door and it shut tightly this time. Now, I am afraid to use the door. I bought the minivan because I have children.

2007 Honda Odyssey. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle paint peeling. Some time ago, the consumer noticed small bubbles over the entire vehicle, some of which had started to peel, which led to large portions of the paint peeling. The consumer learned Honda used a low quality primer which resulted in poor adherence to the paint.

In 2010 I had to have 3 out of the 4 motor mounts replaced on my engine and then last week I was told that I need to replace 2 of the motor mounts. I was told by the Honda service center this is not a normal wear and tear item and that I should not have had to have them replaced again 4 years later. I've also seen multiple complaints about various models of Honda Odyssey with the same problem. Your engine shakes terribly at start and while idling and has a hard kick when you start to go from braking and idling and jerks forward which I can only attribute to this problem. It caused me to brake because I thought my engine had fallen out of my vehicle or was about to and in stop and go traffic on the highway this can be quite dangerous. I believe this is a known problem by Honda as I've seen it mentioned on numerous websites and I have notified Honda myself just recently. I would hope they would look into this. I am not able to get this fixed as it costs nearly 1200$ every time this occurs.

In a routine Virginia state safety inspection a Honda dealer failed my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey van (50902 miles) for two broken motor mounts (front and passenger side) and a burned out brake light. I did not and do not believe that such a new, low mileage vehicle should have developed broken motor mounts, especially since my wife drove the van gently since it was new. Because the projected repair costs to replace the motor mounts, "cracked" compliance bushings and other unspecified bushings were expected to be several thousand dollars, I took the van to an independent auto repair shop for a second opinion. The independent shop did establish that the front motor mount was broken and that the other issues, however, were spurious. The independent shop agreed to repair the van for $368. I think that Honda has in this case designed and produced faulty motor mounts (I think that each Honda Odyssey engine has 5 motor mounts). I also think that Honda should issue a recall to replace the faulty motor mounts at no cost to the vehicle's owners and should reimburse owners (current and prior) for any related repair costs. Since a faulty motor mount triggered a rejection in a Virginia state safety inspection, this Honda motor mount failure issue is clearly a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the rear liftgate struts were defective and caused the door to close abruptly upon accessing. The door closed on the contacts face; however, there was no injury. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 66,800.

While driving in heavy raining conditions or flow of water pool, on roadway or hwy, vehicle wants to shut off displaying no charging, like I have no power for a few seconds. Twice this occurred on hwy speed 70+ or 25-30 +, on roadway with heavy rain and flow of water pool splash during turn vehicle shut off and power up within approximately 3-5 seconds. I was able to move over to the off road medium and regain engine power. This has happen numerous times in the course of 2 yrs. Bringing vehicle to Honda dealership which they cant repeat complaint even with hosing engine belt with water, though the tech stated many customers have reported this during raining conditions. Note no power steering due to this event. Ret nypd

While traveling on the highway, a rock hit my A/C condenser. A replacement condenser costs $700-1,000. Please ask Honda to invent some sort of condenser guard to protect it from road debris. My father had same problem with his 2006 Honda Odyssey.

When I turn or go straight, with and without brakes on, at a slow speed, I hear a loud horn-like sound. Seems to be coming from front. I only have about 21,000 miles and bought it new. This problem has been happening most of the time we've owned it (almost 3 years). Dealer can't make the problem happen. I even left it overnight. It usually happens when I leave home. I make short trips to school and store. It is sporadic. I heard another Odyssey with the same noise pulling into a parking spot the other day. Is this common? it is annoying and embarrassing. It can be quite loud. Since I've had the recall done, it's not as frequent.

2007 Honda Odyssey van. We noticed two small stains on the carpet in the rear storage area, where the 3rd row seats can be stored. We tried to clean the carpet with resolve, but that made the stains bigger. When we vacuumed the carpet, we found an oily residue with the consistency of lithium grease in the vacuum attachment. We removed the rear seats and folded the carpeting back. There's a gray panel of soundproofing or something else at the bottom of the cargo area, and that panel is disintegrating, leaving behind a tarry residue. The tarry residue is what reached up through the carpet to cause the stain. I don't know why the panel itself is disintegrating. We purchased the car used from a dealer in April 2010, and first noticed the problem in July 2010.

When I opened the rear power liftgate, it got almost completely open and then unexpectedly closed while making a beeping sound. It would have closed on my head if I didn't jump out of the way fast enough. I tried it again using the remote again and then w/ the liftgate button on the dashboard and it continues to malfunction.

Honda Odyssey 2007 exl: Brake pedal is soft requiring pressing almost to the bottom to stop the car. Dealer did replace master cylinder but no difference, the same scary feeling especially on a highway. Couple times I even manage to press brake and accelerator pedals at the same time while trying to stop a car. The first time it happened (it was in Canada and road was slippery) I had to use parking brake to stop a car.
