We own an Odyssey and CRV. Both of them have a problem with the heat shield rusting and making noises when accelerating. The only way to replace it is to replace the catalytic converter, which is very expensive. In researching this online it looks like many other Honda owners with all different makes and models have experienced this problem. Has this been investigated? the other option is to remove this heat shield but it sounds like this could cause a fire if you park on grass or it could damage the other car parts in close proximity to the converter..

1) mileage: 73,649. 10/26/11. Honda replaced P/S as it was leaking. 2)10/10/13: Replaced P/S pressure hose as it was leaking.3) mileage: 113,903. 2/22/14. Another leak with the P/S. was advised that it could be something as simple as a seal or it could be the P/S itself. Will find out after driving the car around. Doesn't make sense that the P/S pump should fail again after 40,254 miles. Was told that Honda will probably not cover the cost after that many miles. Not happy as I have had several issues with the van. Front wheel bearings were replaced at 34,000+ miles. P/S rack & pinion was found leaking at 34,094 miles. Left passenger door failed auto open. Honda fixed that and now that warranty is over, it's starting to happen again.

While driving in heavy raining conditions or flow of water pool, on roadway or hwy, vehicle wants to shut off displaying no charging, like I have no power for a few seconds. Twice this occurred on hwy speed 70+ or 25-30 +, on roadway with heavy rain and flow of water pool splash during turn vehicle shut off and power up within approximately 3-5 seconds. I was able to move over to the off road medium and regain engine power. This has happen numerous times in the course of 2 yrs. Bringing vehicle to Honda dealership which they cant repeat complaint even with hosing engine belt with water, though the tech stated many customers have reported this during raining conditions. Note no power steering due to this event. Ret nypd

Dera sir: We bought this vehicle (Honda Odyssey, 2007) in May 2007 in Michigan. Since last 18 months, we have been experiencing serious issues with this vehicle. One issue was power steering (not able to maneuvering), I went to Honda. They changed the power steering unit twice in the last 12 months (I purchased extenede warranty, otherwise it would have been an expensive thing for me). Again, I had same issue this week, then I went to Honda. They mentioned "right side inner and outer tie rods loose and were completely worn out". they did mentiioned to me that it is dangaerous to drive this vehicle. They kept my vehicle overnight and installed a new part. I believe there is serious flaws in the design of this particle year model. Today I am experienceing different problem, shaking engine at 40 mph. They did update the software but still there is problem in this vehicle. I apreciate if nha would take a look into this matter. I almost spent more than $10000 on this vehicle and I realized I bought a piece of junk from Honda which I thought was a reliable maker. Engine warning light began blinking. Minivan could not accelerate above 55 mph., and it shook and sputtered as speed increased. Seemed necessary to let of the accelerator to allow the engine to shift and increase speed. Knocking sound coming from the engine area. Told by Honda dealer that spark plug had been removed by someone causing damage to threading in coil/cylinder head. Highly unlikely that anyone accessed engine or spark plugs in this timeframe. Service tech is machining new threads into coil/cylinder head. This is a very costly repair.

While traveling on the highway, a rock hit my A/C condenser. A replacement condenser costs $700-1,000. Please ask Honda to invent some sort of condenser guard to protect it from road debris. My father had same problem with his 2006 Honda Odyssey.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact was driving 10 mph in rainy weather when the vehicle stalled. The entire instrument panel illuminated when the failure occurred. The contact stated the failure would only occur in rainy weather. The dealer advised that the vehicle would need to be diagnosed before making any repairs. We have a 2007 hondy Odyssey.. we have noticed that the motor mounts have failed on the car. During acceleration, the car vibrates and shakes. We took it to a mechanic and was told the motor mounts failed. In fact we were told this is common with the Honda Odyssey.

Failure of front A/C condenser by a supposed "rock" impact resulting in loss of refrigerant and A/C service. I contend this is related to design defect of the front bumpers and lack of grill in large opening. Honda provided no compensation and extended warranty refused by stating "dealer stated rock impact is considered a collision under warranty" a google search reveals this is a wide spread problem with many models of Honda, not just Odyssey.

Honda Odyssey 2007 defective oil drain plug Honda's drain plug is defective in that it generates permanent leakage upon its removal in the event of an oil change. Honda is acknowledging this defective condition of the drain plug, and is requiring the consumer to bear the burden of its defective product by requiring the recurring purchase of these replacement drain plugs each time the oil is changed. Again, this leaves the burden of the defective part on the consumer, in addition to enabling large amounts of oil to leak onto the environment, as well as endangering the life of one's vehicle if these drain plugs are not replaced upon each oil change. The consumer should not have to bear this burden. Honda should manufacture a safe non-defective product. Also, the consumer had to figure out why the vehicle was leaking when Honda knew all along and did not notify the consumer.

Front grille of Honda Odyssey- and many other models allows for road debris to damage condenser coils in engine. Not covered under warranty due to being a road hazard- but simply looking at design will be obvious this is a design flaw. Severe misjudgment has occurred with this design- and Honda is refusing to cover this under any warranty- dealer agrees, mechanic agrees- worst design ever.

While driving my 2007 Honda Odyssey with less than one year of service, I began to notice steam coming from the engine area. I was in the process of driving to an appointment when I noticed it. The next day, my vehicle no longer had A/C. after taking it to the dealership, I was informed that a small pebble had broken one of the fins on the ac condenser. It would cost $850 to fix it. There was no unusual wear and tear nothing that I could have done to prevent this. What's more, once I replace this, there is no guarantee that another pebble won't fly into the grille again based on it's location. This is not covered by the manufacturer or an extended warranty. The consumer loses big here. We've had to drive and save for 6 months to get this replaced.
