Odyssey LX 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

My 2008 Honda Odyssey if a very reliable vehicle and has been since I bought it new in 2008. Just after turning over 100K we had to have the AC unit recharged.

About a month later and two days before a long car trip ALL the dash lights and all the gauges decided to stop working. No speedometer, gas gauge, temp, you name it, if it was in the instrument panel it wasn't working. The van still started and ran but without gauges it's difficult to know how fast you're going and how much gas is left. I researched it on the internet and it said to totally disconnect the battery (Both positive and negative leads) for a few minutes and reconnect it. That did the trick...for one day. Tried it again and it worked until the van was shut off and restarted. A little more googgling recommended to ground the battery with a new cable, $15 at local auto parts dealer. It's been over a month and the repair is still working. I hope I haven't jinxed myself.

Odyssey EX V6

Honda sucks !! we bought a Honda odyssey in 2008 we have the extended guarantee of 7 years however within the first 4 years of owning the car about 1/3 of the dashboard backlight lights in several systems function switches went out !! when asked to have the bulbs replaced under warranty , Honda denied, stating this was a normal consumable item like tires and brakes not covered by warranty ! I have driven Toyota's all my life , i had dashboard lights on my 4 runner go out outside the warranty and still got them replaced for free !!

Since we have the car new the car has never driven steadily straight ahead, always a slight pull on the steering wheel

they claimed first it was the tires then the alignment then the roads ( are tilted )

we tried changing tires redoing alignments no results !! still drives crooked in its 4th year after 4 dealers tried fixing it

they all conclude it's normal !!

My 9 year old 4 runner drives straight like a train on a train track

Honda suck's their customer services sucks even more The high price for honda cars is completely undeserved

Avoid Honda

Go for Toyota or some other brand that treats customers right and with respect !!
